Just wanted to find out how many people still play there. Their numbers haven't fallen, pros still sponsor them, they are dumping more everyday on advertising.

i played UB once... Deposited 600 on there after getting a good score on a different site. I was observign a 2 /4 NL HU game and this guy was such a donk and ending up sucking out and bustin his opponent. I sat down as it looked like easy money. First hand AK off suit. WE get it al in preflop and his 102 off suit out races me and he scoopes my buy in. I reload with rest of my roll and am dealt QK suited the very next hand and we get it in on a Q high flop. Qk<q9 when a 9 fell on river. I was in shock and the guy just lol'd and said he wanted to gamble. That is when i realized that those sites are rigged and havent played since. However, i am considering coming back because i am seeing all these crazy hand histories from ap where people play about as bad as the guy i just described above.
edit: Op, your avatar always makes me want to play some Megaman!!

Ya gotz to get down with the Megaman!
I still feel pretty comfortable on PS and FT, but I play at a level that is 1/4 or less than my average cash game buy in or entry fee.
I know I'm not the only person like that.

You have to realize that people that come to and post at poker forums are .01% of the poker playing population.
And of that .01%, some of them either don't care about the stuff that happened there.
The numbers are not going to drop from stuff that most people don't care about. I remember an article written I believe in the summer of 2005 on ESPN.com about Steve Bartman. A doctor was trying to say that most people really just don't care about Steve Bartman. The media feasts on the 50 people that send him death threats or follow him to work, but hundreds of thousands of other Cub fans don't care about him at all, and millions of others haven't even heard of him. To prove the point he went and asked 100 people at the Taste of Chicago if the name Steve Bartman meant anything to them at all. 38 said yes, 62 said no. I found that quite telling after all the guy went through.
My point is that people on poker forums are focusing on the tiny, tiny percentage that sends death threats instead of the huge chunk of people that really don't care.
PS This is also why people like Zach, Abba, and others clean up there. The 2+2ers, FCPers, and P5ers of the world care. The people who suck at poker don't care.

Is this another one of those "which one doesn't belong" kind of things?

There was some confusion, I moved it, thought a second thread was opened so closed it, but there never was a second thread, the thread i moved to online poker got moved back to general poker by request therefore the 'second' thread I closed was actually this original thread which has now been reopened.
Clear as mud?

Clear as mud?
So right now there are 2 threads showing, one is moved and the other is at the top of General and they are the same thread, so essentially there is actually only 1 thread. Correct?

It is showing up twice, but if you click on the one lower down that was 'moved' it brings you right back to this thread OOOOOOeeeeeeeOOOOOOOOOO, hence only 1 thread.

Mr. The Cubs,
I think that shows that at least 38% of the population at a Food Event/Restaurant was aware of pop culture in their city as much as anything. As surprising as it is...at least it was covered. If you went to a sports memorabilia show in Chicago, how would that change? Poker players...even casual ones...read the front pages, tournament results and glam-BS on the covers and home pages of sites and newspapers, just like casual sports fans scan the front of the sports page, catch SC and look at box scores.
What I'm saying here and in the other post on journalism...is that if you are warned and keep playing, great, its on your own ass. However, if you fail to read fine print and "page 9" kind of crap and are the backbone (or wallet) of the industry that we love...why would we risk scaring you off? Why not steer them to the honest game where skill meets skill and the better player has an edge.
If the scandals made the front of CP and Bluff and they had a letter from the editor stating why they dumped advertising...or a real appology and story from the sites, I bet their traffic would nosedive 30-50%.
