I have no idea what the dream means. I am sure there will be plenty of "experts" that will say what the elements of the dream symbolize and what they say about Daniel's state of mind. I don't know if I beleive any of that stuff. I just thought I would start the thread to save those people some time.

Hey Daniel I don't know you at all but I'm thinking back to your blog on Chip Reese. Seems to me at his funeral, there were a great number of people there talking about how he'd touched their lives in different ways and there wasn't much at all about poker even though that's what his "fame" was for. This is kind of like what you've talked about in your definitive moment too. So I'm thinking Chip Reese in the dream indicates that at the end of your life you want to look back and be known to the people close to you as more than just a great poker player. The thing with your house in Toronto blending in with your current house I'd think means a turning point too. As in leaving your present life behind and how scary it is to go to something new and unknown. And what that might mean in the possibility of loosing what you have already, ie friends, family etc. Don't know if this would even ring a bell with you but it does fit in with all the other things you've been talking about on this trip.
What do you like to do for fun?

I'm going to have to agree with Nimue1995 here in part even if he's not sure what its about. Moving from your old house to your new house is a turning point and a new beginning.

I don't feel that the dream was a focus on something you need to learn, just a reminder of whats happening to you. You've mentioned that you have pretty much always had a relationship with God and anyone who also knows God and follows your blog has an idea of where your coming from, as it takes faith for a real relationship with God through Christ. Your dream to me meant that you were having a relationship with God and not exactly being forth coming with everyone in your life about it or maybe just not sharing Gods' glory with those around you. And that is why you were in the basement in your dream. Also when you mentioned that there was a glass roof with a hole in it and the sun was shining through. You have surrendered to God in a small way, you have let him in if not completely and it is scary to you not to be in complete control of yourself. As you completely surrender to God that glass roof will be completely broken before God can build you back up in his image.

I don't know much really about your relationship with Chip, but by the sound of things he just made people around him relaxed and he was good with everyone. I don't know his view of God from words he's said. None of that matters, this part of your dream to me says it all. This speaks volumes to Chip's belief in God and heaven, which I have read about and have no true concept of what heaven really is. Chip is with God in your dream, your distorted version of heaven. A perfect place with a golf course yet people are too immersed in the place to actually want to be playing golf. The shock of seeing Chip in that place and talking to you "Hey Daniel, hows it going?" is something you will most likely think about for the rest of your life. The more I think of that statement it almost makes me think you had a conversation if not more then one about God and you know he's truly there. Just to clarify when I said Chip is with God in your dream, I don't mean at that moment though I won't rule it out, the woman seems somewhat out of place to me, but I just can't put my finger on it.

If there is anyone reading this with a serious prophetic gift, please chime in and confirm or clarify a bit. I am plugged in right now if you know what I mean and I started a home church group last night.

The spiritual meanings are certainly a possibly part of this since Daniel does believe in God. But more I've looked at it the more I think it's about the fear of letting go of the past and perhaps the life he's led up to now in favor of something that's still unknown and a bit scary. It could be a career change that he's being led to and wants but it's still scary to think that the change could rob him of what he's already got in the way of family and friends. That's what I see as the symbolism of the 2 houses being together but still being robbed together. I might agree about the sunshine, it's revealing the dark corners that he's not really ready to explore yet. Anyway, I still think that Chip Reese in the dream is basically saying it's alright to let go of the past and move on. That he did it and it worked out fine. The thing about the golf course and no one playing on it could be related to the fact that life isn't always about the game with golf subsituting for poker in the symbolism. Makes sense that Chip would be in a golf cart because he did play the game. But basically he's not playing it now. Anyway the woman I think could be a life partner to come. Don't know for sure about that. Or maybe just a yearning for someone to share his life with.

I wouldn't make any changes in my life over a dream.

I don't see God needing to give you vague hard to figure out dreams to tell you something when He is capable of telling you so much right through the Bible. God is not a God of confusion.

Side Note:
I can't tell you how many times my wife has woken up and been mad at me for something she dreamed.

I mean there is plenty to be mad at me about without adding in dreams.

I think you're dream was just a subconcious way of putting you life back together. You've had some ruff changes these last few months, and you'are still a bit shaky bout it.
Eventhough you take your time to figure everything out, there still is a bit of it, that just isn't in your control
and your mind tries to bring the pieces together.
You feel alone at times, and you might be scared and confused or you feel just a bit off. Some things you had in your life are now gone, and during the day you are trying
to make the best of it. And it keeps clouding your head at night. You might be scared of never coming out of this, or you might be worried that you've lost your own path.
But you just need to take deep breaths. Figure out one day, and one thing at a time. and soon you'll be on your own track again.
You're nightmare wasn't meant to scare you, It was just your mind trying to give everything a place, and leaving you enough options to control everything again.

Well, Anyways,
That's what I think..

Go and have a bit of fun. Be you, and play Golf, Poker, Bowl, knit, or whatever it is you do, that makes you Daniel Negreanu wink.gif

I would go with creepy for someone who isn't open to others beliefs. Or normal for someone who has an open mind to some Christain beliefs, although a large percentage of Christains really don't like to get involved when it comes to the gifts of God like: prophecy, speaking in tounges, interpreting tounges. I wouldn't mind hearing why you think its creepy or asking about things you don't understand.

It would also be viewed as facinating even if you had no belief in God as to why someone else would think that way.

It's real easy to get caught up in some dream dictionary about what this or that means in a dream. I would tend to look at what's happening in the person's life at the time and their history. That was pretty much the basis of my interpretation. I wasn't about to say that the spiritual aspect wasn't a correct interpretation either though because Daniel is open to the spiritual. But I'm inclined to think this isn't really God talking to him as much as his unconscious mind trying to deal with some of the fears he's not consciously ready to acknowledge. I will say that I wouldn't presume to say anything about someone's relationship with God without knowing them personally first. And as much as Daniel has shared with us here on the forum I wouldn't say any of us has that kind of relationship with Daniel.
