What To Do? What To Do?

So yesterday I made some select Choice Strip Steaks on the grill, using Montreal Steak Marinade, Soy Sauce and Olive Oil. It is my favorite combination for an awesome grilled steak, medium rare of course.
I topped them with mushrooms and Krogers only had regular button mushrooms, but I wanted Cremini? Dang. I did end up with Baby Bellas and some Shitakes to go with the shrooms on hand so you have to deal with issues, right?
Then I wanted soup. Dog damn, I love the fucking soup. Really who don't though. Fuck concerts, I can yell, "IT'SOUP!" and have a better high. So I made French Onion Soup. I Dog Damn love the shit. Big pieces of crusty baguette bread with gruyere and provolone melted. I used a half bottle of Merlot in it and it was awesome, so was the half bottle I drank.
I thought I was heading with a French theme, so I made Au Gratin Potatoes. I sliced them very thinly and used fresh grated Parm and heavy cream along with some fresh thyme. (Aren't fresh herbs the best!) Kidding **** them cooking shows.
Anywho, I'm fairly certain there's no cooking/poker super thread so if everyone else has one, why not me, besides, I am a charter member and you are probably below me since I was here early, an original, and a true Daniel believer.
Okay, that was bullshit, but what the hell. Post a recipe where you got layed or scored or hope to. I don't know shit about computors but I can cook like a motherfucker and it get you will layed more than you're current game is or ain't working.

I say, feed them. Get a nice place, cook for them and well *Nikki can fill in the details.

Believing my heart was strong
But every step I take that leads me away
Just circles back to your door
Wishing I didn't love you
What I'd give if I could touch you
Wishing I didn't love you anymore

If you do this a lot, you may want to get a mandolin slicer. I can't imagine slicing pototoes au gratin by hand.

Actually your mom's hand grater for 1.99 works fine. I haven't shelled out the hundo for a mandolin grater and as long as the food kicks ass they don't care about it either. A great knife set is a must though.
I think I'll get one soon though, they're the bomb for making an impression and the misses knows I'd like one. It's low on the important scale though.
*Always watch your fingers while grating things up, when it gets close to the end your fingers can end up mush.
**Or Goooey depending on the weekend and if Nikki is in your thread. HINT!

They don't necessarily have to be sliced that way.
I've had Au Gratin's that were more cubed.
Just throwin it out there.

Dinner: italian sub from mancino's
Post-dinners: 5 piece chicken nuggets from Wendy's, 2 stuffed pepperoni breadsticks from kilroy's.
My favorite recipe: cook some tyson chicken strips in the microwave, fill a quesadilla with cheese and buffalo sauce, put the chicken in the quesadilla in a flat kind of pot then cook on the stove. Flip when one side gets brown. Dip in ranch with salsa. Delicious.

However I did throw together my macaroni salad to go with it.
I use Ditalini instead of elbows.
Then I make it with Red onion diced up very tiny
Frozen Baby Sweet Peas (do not use canned)
Small diced squares of sharp cheddar cheese
Very Little Mayo and vinegar (I mix the mayo and vinegar together first to make a thinned out mayo mixture)
Salt & pepper
It is very light since it is only lightly coated in mayo & vinegar not caked like most macaroni salad. The peas and cheese go very well with it. Everyone in my family loves when I bring it to Barbecues etc..

And yes I am a homogay and I love to cook. I cook 90% of all the meals at my house and watch foodtv more often than I should.
Should we get Kdawg to change the title?

Here is a nice recipe for some great mashed potatoes if you are tired of the same ol' same ol'.
Get some good quality potatoes. Yukon Gold is a good choice.
Get a large white onion.
Milk or cream, sugar, butter, salt, white pepper, and a ricer (optional but highly recommended)
Cut the onion in strips and put in a hot saute pan with a little oil of your choosing. Add some sugar and let caramelize. Stirring it about every few minutes or so.
cut your potatoes in half and peel if you want to and place in cold water with some salt. Set burner on high and boil till fork tender.
In a sauce pan put cream, salt and pepper.
When the potatoes are done drain them and for real good potatoes place on baking sheet and set in over at 300 for 5 minutes to dry them out. Less water in the potatoes the better.
Warm up cream and put aside onions if already nice and dark brown.
Put potatoes through a ricer or start mashing them if no ricer while adding small chunks of butter and a little of the warmed cream. Once mashed to your liking add the onions and fold them in. Don't stir the potatoes too much as they will stiffen.
Voila! Caramelized mashed potatoes!
