two limpers, sb raises, i call in the big blind with A-7 suited, as do the limpers.flop comes A-x-x, small blind bets.i opted to call here, figuring that if someone raised behind me, it's an easy check-fold on the turn unimproved since my wicker is keak. if no one raises, i still don't know if i have the original bettor beat, and by just calling instead of raising, i get the most out of hands that i'm ahead of, and lose the least to hands that i'm behind.is that correct? or is that too passive?aseem
is this an example of wa/wb?

You use this against a TAG player because they will fold KK-TT to a raise but bet if noone shows aggression. A LPP will call your raise and look you up.The WA/WB line is player dependent.

i did the "wicker is keak" thing for fun, waiting for a george w comment.
wa/wb = way ahead of way behind. you're not sure which one you are, so you just call someone down. this way, you maximize your winnings if you're ahead (e.g. against K-K, who might check-fold the turn if you raise the flop, but keep betting if no one raises him), and minimize your losses if you're behind (e.g. against A-K, who will three-bet and cap if you get raise).i know i can raise, but in my experience, too many people just cold-call behind me with a better raise, and when no one shows aggression, i'm basically obliged to bet the turn and the river, so i lose money. if i just cal and someone raises behind me, i can let it go a lot easier on the turn.what do you think?aseem
