two limpers, sb raises, i call in the big blind with A-7 suited, as do the limpers.flop comes A-x-x, small blind bets.i opted to call here, figuring that if someone raised behind me, it's an easy check-fold on the turn unimproved since my wicker is keak. if no one raises, i still don't know if i have the original bettor beat, and by just calling instead of raising, i get the most out of hands that i'm ahead of, and lose the least to hands that i'm behind.is that correct? or is that too passive?aseem

You use this against a TAG player because they will fold KK-TT to a raise but bet if noone shows aggression. A LPP will call your raise and look you up.The WA/WB line is player dependent.

dont do that, its not dislexic friendly, I just spent a minut trying to figure out if there was any relation between that and wa/wb.. :D wouldnt you raise the SB's bet just to protect your hand, if yours is the best? if you're beat someone would 3 bet , then you can check fold the turn. but by raising you would be making everyone else call 2 bets instead of just one and you could make the weak draws fold..right?at least in my 1-2 thats what I would do ,. I dunno what limits you play.oh btw what does wa/wb stand for?

i did the "wicker is keak" thing for fun, waiting for a george w comment. :D wa/wb = way ahead of way behind. you're not sure which one you are, so you just call someone down. this way, you maximize your winnings if you're ahead (e.g. against K-K, who might check-fold the turn if you raise the flop, but keep betting if no one raises him), and minimize your losses if you're behind (e.g. against A-K, who will three-bet and cap if you get raise).i know i can raise, but in my experience, too many people just cold-call behind me with a better raise, and when no one shows aggression, i'm basically obliged to bet the turn and the river, so i lose money. if i just cal and someone raises behind me, i can let it go a lot easier on the turn.what do you think?aseem

It makes sense...but with 2 limpers behind you I wouldnt worry much about them cold calling 2 bets, but I would worry about them overcalling 1 bet with a weak draw. IMHO..
