Okay, I've been playing cash games for two months now (blah blah converted tournament player etc etc)Anyway, I've played enough sessions to make an interesting judgement.I'm up nicely so far, but when I go on swings the down swings seem bigger then the upswings. If I were to draw a graph it would be something like up up DOWN up up up DOWN DOWN up upThe downswings seem to be considerably bigger, but thankfully I've had more winning sessions then losing onesDoes this seem typical to anyone else?I don't have Pokertracker because it's Full Tilt, but as my NL cash game time is about to be switched over to limit (this bonus is damn near impossible at limit) I just want to hear a few thoughts on this
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

i've never had a losing session[sw]No, I fully understand what you mean sometimes... The other day I had a 70bb downswing, then a bunch of +15-20bb sessions, then a 50bb downswing, then a bunch more up sessions. But when I look back at the 12,000 hands i have at 1/2 my winrate is still between 3.00-3.50bb/100 so thats all I try and focus onThough i find myself semi-tilting when im having a losing session, not playing garbage, but I find myself missing, or losing an extra bet sometimes. i'm working on it

Thanks for the input. There are also days where I seem to win money and play relatively poor, and then times where I'm playing great, and I lose.

If your downswings are more than your upswings you have the disease tilt.eat somethings, work out, jerk off...do something to keep from getting too tense or too tired.Even though you have more winnings sessions than losing sessions, if you are losing more on your losing sessions than you are on your winnings sessinos it cuts into you BR pretty bad and its rather easy to fix.Quit tilting.

Not recommended while multi-tabling though. :lol:I try not to focus too much on my winrate (easier said then done)Focus more on making the right decisions and playing well instead of the swings, especially if you think you might be tilting. are you going to the cashier everytime you lose a pot or win a pot to see how much you are ahead or behind? If you are, then you are focusing too much on your winnings.

how often should you have losing sessions if you play the same amount of hands every session? I play like 500 hands a day and my chart would look like this:lose, win, lose, win loose, loose, loose WIN,win, loose, loose, WIN.Im still up 2.3 BB x 100 after 7k hands (but yesterday i had a 110xBB session) does it matter how many losing sessions I have? maybe the big swings mean I have a leak or somethin?

Im not sure about that. I don't have enough recorded hands to give you a decent answer. Ill ask around and IM you if I find the answer.

See, here's the thing. I don't even play very long sessions. I know that if I play more then two hours things go bad. That only leads to about 200-250 hands of two table NLMy other problem is that most of my bankroll gains have come through bonus. Take the bonus away and I'm far far less.Ah well, I love the game but I realize I'm never going to be a pro. Also, I've only played seriously since October, so I really can't complain TOO much lolI'm still a beginner lol
