Hey Daniel, (or anyone else with good advice...)
I've been checking out the forum here for quite some time. Always entertaining.
I've never really had anything to say until today, so I finally signed up to post this.
For the past 8 years I've been in the Real Estate and Mortgage business. I've always
done well up until about six months ago when the mortgage market took a turn for the
worse. I ended up loosing my business, as did a lot of mortgage brokers then.
I've always had confidence in my poker game, so I decided to start playing full time.
The one thing I've had the most trouble with is not strategy, bankroll management or
being a winning player. Its been my parents not supporting me in my decision. I was
raised in a christian/romanian household. Needless to say, they're pretty stubborn.
Was this something you dealt with in the beginning of your career? I'm sure with all of
your success now your mother must be proud. Am I gonna need a million dollar payday
to get my parents approval? Don't get me wrong, I'm a grown ass man! But like any other
person, who doesn't want their parents to be proud of them? Forgive me if I'm getting to
personal, I could just use some helpful advice...
Thanks,
romoking

IMO, if your parents dont support your decision thats their problem, not yours.
3 reasons why you can accept all in withouth see the floop:
1. if i am 200% convinced that i am a lucky guy and i will win
2. if i have the cards in hand that i wish(diferent cases: AA; AK; ... etc)
3. if i have a so called PokerRNG program that can copy the original RNG

If you have been doing your own thing for 8 years now, that means we can assume you live on your own?
If so, it is up to your parents to accept whatever profession you choose.
You should not let their nonacceptance hinder whatever profession you choose, be it poker, accounting, bartender...etc

I agree. Why did his story need to be addressed specifically to DN only. I'm sure most of the people on this board can relate to his story too.

Lie to them. Go to confession. TP/MM. Tithe 10%. Show parents tax receipt. Receive the love and respect you crave.
Happy ending.
Happy ending.
If you don't think the religious right and republicans know what's good for you, you must not love America.
