MikeBauer26 0
title says it all, do you fold, call or raise here on river. Villain is 35/24/2.5 after some 200 hands. A lot of the raises being minraises though. (I wont comment on what i think of these)My image is well... calling station. I have gotten so many beautifull suited connectors... but they just never suited and never connected so i never really got to move or play.Heres the hand. Suggestions and thoughts welcome. Worth noticing: Villain tanked for half a minute before betting the river.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)UTG ($2.10)UTG+1 ($1.70)MP1 ($10)Hero ($10.80)MP3 ($10.80)CO ($21.55)Button ($22.80)SB ($1.90)BB ($6.75)Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 4, 4. 3 folds, Hero calls $0.10, 4 folds, BB checks.Flop: ($0.25) 4, 6, 8(2 players)BB bets $0.3, Hero calls $0.30.Turn: ($0.85) 2(2 players)BB bets $0.8, Hero calls $0.80.River: ($2.45) T(2 players)BB bets $1.5, Hero calls $1.50.Final Pot: $5.

dms26 3
Please raise somewhere, anywhere. Multiple streets preferably.Don't ever be scared of set over set. If it happens it happens, but playing like this is costing you so much money over the long run.

mtdesmoines 2
This is an autocall on the river. He rivered the straight, I know. Just so you know, so many people are multi-tabling so many tables that I really don't put a whole lotta stock into timing tells anymore.
StilettoNole 0
How are you not raising the flop? How are you not raising the turn?...Do these and the river is an easy decision.
Acid_Knight 2
Preflop is marginal, even at full ring. A raise is best.Raise the flop.Raise the turn.Raise the river.Raise somewhere! And DMS is right. You lose more money playing like this in the long run than you do if you are raising and getting it in somewhere along the way with his set/straight/whatever.
Moneyball16 0
How lag this guy is preflop also diminishes the chances he has a higher set here because he would often raise those hands preflop.

MikeBauer26 0
Thanks for the replies so far.I still have trouble understanding the "raise somewhere and river will play itself"-concept.Scenario: I raise turn and he comes over the top. Now what? OK... just read every reply another time.... i am obviously NOT gonna fold this but raise it (and cry when he flopped str8). Btw- this is not a bad beat post or sth.I called and villain showed Q5 for massive continued semi-bluff.He was probably equivalent angry with me for not raising anywhere along the road. Now what? This is an honest question here. It's probably the biggest leak in my game.Btw- this is not a bad beat post or sth.I called and villain showed Q5 for massive continued semi-bluff.He was probably equivalent angry with me for not raising anywhere along the road.Somewhere I read sth. like "you shouldn't call when you can't raise". Can I really raise here?Am I under all circumstances getting my chips in on that board with a bottom set?Pretty much yes. I mean, there are so many pair/gutshot, 2 pair, overpair and OESD combos for him to have here, it a must that you raise somewhere and get your money in, preferably on the flop. Now what? You do what you can to hide the boner you should have gotten once you saw the flop, specifically if you are in a public place, or near your parents/siblings, etc, and you stick your money in the middle. We have a hand that should be treated as the nuts.OK... just read every reply another time.... i am obviously NOT gonna fold this but raise it (and cry when he flopped str8). Sometimes poker is weird. Sometimes it just so happens that our awful line extracted the most value. This does not mean it's the correct line, however, since we don't know his exact hand. And of course, that'd be the exact reason why we don't post results in the OP. :)Welcome to the strat forums, btw, even if I'm a little late on this.
