Willing 2 Die 0
Villian is an older gentlemen. He is new to the table so not alot of reads. Seems to call loose preflop and plays carefully postflop.Hero has AK offStacks are Hero: $300 Villian: $175Preflop: several limpers, Hero in LP raises to $15, Villian in SB calls $15, one limper calls $15 the rest fold.Flop: As, 5, 6sVillian checks, Hero bets $25, Villian calls $25Turn: 10hVillian checks, Hero bets $50, Villian calls.River: 2xVillian checks, Hero checks. What do we think about checking the turn for pot control, and betting $50 on a non spade river? Acid_Knight 2
The turn has way too many draws to NOT bet a blank like an off suit ten.You should bet more on the flop and bet more on the turn and shove a blank river.
simo_8ball 1
Please bet bigger on the flop. Pot is >$45 and you should be betting ~$35 there. On the turn the pot is ~$95. Bet $65. Don't give good drawing odds.On the river the pot is ~$195 and villain has $85 left. Put the rest of the money in.Why would you want to pot control when you are massively ahead of his range? All it does is give him a free card with a draw and gets him do showdown cheaper with a weaker made hand.

Isn't it weird that he is just calling our bets on the flop and turn when we haven't seen him get involved too much post flop?

So I don't think it's "unlikely he has a flush draw or two spades."You're way ahead of a lot of his range. A donk could be calling with AQ, AJ, Ace-rags... Donks can even call with something like JJ. I'm guessing he flopped a set or two-pair and now you're second guessing yourself. As played, I generally value bet the river against a donk, because there are so many hands that pay you off here. Willing 2 Die 0
How else do you expect people to play draws like 95% of the time other than check/calling?What i was saying was that the spade draw is unlikely because there was no flush draw on the flop. Its either Ax, set or two pair.
simo_8ball 1
there was no flush draw on the flop. Flop: As, 5, 6s?
