A good friend of mine made it to the FT and I was railing when a hand came up that we disagreed on the correct play so I thought I would get some fellow FCP'ers input.

Hero has just over 1 mil stack and is in the CO with 1010 blinds at 20/40k all fold to him. Hero raises to 125k all fold to the BB who raises all in for 500k

Hero?

i told him that this hand makes him the worst player on the internet and that this was the gayest straight ever.

i then felt very clever.

Agreed with the above.

Snap-Crackle-Pop call. Looks like a shove back at the CO to defend his BB from a steal. Obviously table image etc should equate in, but theirs no way Im folding 10-10 in that spot unless I know he's only pushing with over-pairs. If he has A-K / A-Q, then I'm racing him for half my chips no problem.

Edited to also say that he could easily be pushing back with an A-X, just to solidify my call.

Not unless you have a read that villain is tight enough to only make this move w/ JJ-AA.

Why would he minraise?

Yes, it makes a call even easier. It looks like a cheap attempt to steal from a short stack blind, and TT is way toward the top of villains pushing range.

Ok, thanks guys icon_biggrin.gif In the hand he called and the BB woke up with KK. I told him I would make the call all day and he thought he could of got away from it. Maybe seeing this thread will make him feel a little better about the decision

That's a bit of a cooler. He should keep those raises standard so it's a bit easier to read. If I standard raised this, I'd certainly contemplate fold. As played, it looks like a defend the blind play. If it was an attempt to slow play for action, as usual, it usually backfires.

Agree with the shove and cooler comments...What ya gonna do?
