nowandlater 0
So im in a home game Blinds 200 400.I have a few 500 chips and a few 1000 chips2 callers the actions on me so i throw in a 1k chip(note: I have smaller denomonation chips)and they just looked at me for like 10 seconds then I said that was a raise, but they wouldnt count it as a raise just a call when it was obviously intentional that I meant to raise.Verdict? My casino USED to be "ANY single chip is a call unless otherwise stated"...now it is "if you have no smaller denominations, it represents a call unless otherwise stated"
king_tanner 84
Technically its a call.At a home game it depends on how serious the game is, I would probably say its ok to raise if its a friendly game.

nowandlater 0
thought so, The situation was that they knew i meant to raise and it wasnt a SERIOUS game, just a 20 dollar home game for kicks I had a good hand and they had bad hands so they wouldnt let it count, I ended up losing with j-q to 7-2 os that hand

David_Nicoson 1
It's a really a call by rule, but the right thing to do in a home game with inexperienced players is to stop and clarify immediately. Someone should ask, "Is that a raise?"
