Pharoahe Monch-Internal Affairs. That was the first rap album that I ever liked and still one of my favorites.
At midnight I'm back in my room, it serves as a drunkards tomb.

Nope Illmatic FTW. But it was written good too.

I like this thread, primarily because for the most part in the music thread they talk about stuff I never listen to or never will.

Here's a good mainstream hip-hop disc most people missed: Freeway's Free at Last. All-star beat-makers, all-star guests; solid outing.

A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Mauraders, The Low End Theory... pretty much all

All Dr. Dre... I'm assuming you probably already have it

Just got into listening to The Game... Doctors Advocate

Gang Starr - Hard To Earn

Anything by Wu Tang Clan

Outkast - Stankonia... and anything on records before Stankonia

Mos Def - Black on Both Sides.... Haven't heard any of his other Cd's but I hear they are good

Obv anything by 2Pac or B.I.G. excluding the stuff that has come out after they both died

I like Jay-Z's earlier music not so much is recent stuff.

I know pretty much everyone will disagree with this, but if I'm pissed off for some reason I turn up anything on Lil' Jon's Crunk Juice CD real loud and it makes me feel a lot better

That's all I got for now

Eh, his solo stuff not so much after Black On Both Sides, but the Black Star stuff with Talib Kweli is the nuts.

Not sure what kind of stuff you are into, but here are some of my favorites that are a little less mainstream, but definitely good stuff:

Masta Ace - Disposable Arts
Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer
Wordsworth - Mirror Music
J-Live - All of the Above
K-Os - Joyful Rebellion
eMC - The Show
Deltron3030
Atmosphere - GodlovesUgly
Atmosphere - Seven's Travels
Atmosphere - You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having
Sage Francis - Human the Death Dance
Brother Ali - Shadows on the Sun
Madvillian - Madvillany
MF Doom - MM...Food?
DangerDoom - The Mouse and The Mask
Lupe Fiasco - Food and Liquor

also, pretty much anything by The Roots or Heiroglyphics.. that should get you started...

I don't like sage francis or atmosphere. A buddy of mine swears by it, but I can't get into it.

and I agree with Roots and Herio.
