So here is the deal: you have to pick three forwards, two defense men and one goalie team. Your goal would be to have most wins over a 10 year period starting next season. Who do you go with:

Over a 10 year span I wouldn't wait on juniors or farm players and would probably go with guys in there early 20's who are already proven to be productive:

Alexander Semin
Anze Kopitar
Corey Perry

Brent Seabrook
Kris Russell

NY RANGERS- H. Lundqvist

Henrik as the center. He'll feed those wingers. He's nice on defence too!

Anze Kopitar. put him on the wing. He'll learn from Henrik to work in his own end.

Semin or Perry? I'll take Perry since he has one cup already.

Vlasic. I get to watch him 82 times a year currently. He was arguably the best defenceman on the Sharks last year. He's been a bit missing this year but I like him.

Brent Seabrook. I don't really know many of the farm guys, but I saw him play against San Jose the other day. He's young so he fits the necessity of the 10 seasons.

FTR, I was thinking in terms of AHL wins when I did mine, not NHL wins which would have changed at least one and probably both defensive picks.

It was intended for AHL wins. I actually had Blum on there too, way more potential but he's a couple years away from an NHL spot I think and won't be productive as a rookie, few rookie defensemen ever score much. At least not until they are 22 or so. Russell will breakout eventually I think. He is working on being defensively responsible and he's winning over the coaches. He's playing on a "nitty" team which hurts.

Me neither.. I think he'll get some decent points being on the 2nd line / PP though. And injuries are a concern.

forwards:

Gagne - surprised more people havent picked him here, 27year old 47goal scorer - he'll be good for 10 more years if he avoids the injury bug.
Kopitar - easy choice
Oshie - will be in the league next year so give him 3-4 years and he'll be a prime contributor going forward. in spite of him never having played a game, i trust his style of game more than semin.

Russell - great young guy who is too smart not to get points
Vishnevskiy - pure offense. give him 3 years to get in the league then watch him explode.

Vancouver - Luongo.

How about see you in the finals biiatch. Cheap Thieves are the luckiest franchise in league winning two titles as the underdog. We are favored in the conference, though, and if we make it to the finals, then fluky goals take over.
