First time I post a hand here, feel free to criticize away! I logged in my first 1-2$ session tonight after around 5000 hands at .5-1$, all logged in PokerTracker. With all the good advice here I feel my game is on the right track. Want to thank Smash too as his experiment really helped me a lot as I was beginning at the micro-limits. Almost finished my first read of SSHE, too.So. This hand puzzle me a little both pre-flop and on the flop. The raiser is new to the table and I have no data on him. I rarely do cold call but I think it is a case that might be allright. And on the flop I'm pretty sure my call is just the worst play. I felt I should have raised there, to isolate the raiser in case he missed. What would you have done on preflop and on the flop? I think middle pair play is one of the most tricky situation for me, often unsure what to do...Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 max, 9 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is CO with [9c], [9s]. 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls.Flop: (8 SB) [Qs], [6s], [7h] (4 players)SB checks, BB checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls, SB folds, BB folds.Turn: (5 BB) [9h] (2 players)MP1 bets, MP1 calls.River: (9 BB) [Qh] (2 players)MP1 checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls.Final Pot: 11 BB

3-bet preflop to isolate the OG raiser. After that the hand plays different.Since you coldcalled, raise the flop.

Thanks. Had a feeling I messed up. Got lucky though. What would you raise or play here preflop? Say instead of 9s it was 7s or 8s. Sklansky advocates only raising Ts in this situation and play any pocket pair.

Those are his guidlines. If the blinds are tight, I'm 3-betting AA-77, AK, and maybe an AQs(player dependent).
