Snaphook 0
All of the following led to heated discussions. I want some independent opinions on what decisions were better. Don't have the hand histories so I will give you as much information as possible.Situation 1Early in tourney both player A and B have 3k in chips blinds still at 15-30.Several limpers SB pops it to 330 folds back to button who shoves.Button shoved 23 SB called A5s.Question is what is a worse play shoving 23 or calling a large shove with A5s?Situation 2Down to 30 players from 1300. Blinds 2500-5k.Player A with 100K in Open shoves Player B with 200k calls with AK? 200k was about 5th in chips would move in to a strong lead with the win but still comfortable without calling.Question is bad call or good call.Situtation 3Down to 15 players in the same tournament as #2.Player A raises AK with 300k behind. Blinds 5k-10k called by both blinds. Flop QJ4 rainbow. C-bets 50k gets checkraised 100k more from small, Turn comes 5 putting 4 suites on board SB open shoves and Player A calls off last 150K with AK high.Question is bad play good play? One final question rank which plays are best/worst.Thanks
simo_8ball 1
1/ Shoving the 23 is horrendous. Calling with the A5s is horrendous. The 23 is worse though.2/ Pretty close. You know you're at worst 43% against TT/JJ (he's not open shoving AA/KK there), and you could be way ahead against AQ. I probably fold it, but I could go either way with some kind of read.3/ Indescribably bad.Calling with the AK preflop is the best play of the ones you gave (but that doesn't mean it's a good play). The AK in the 3rd hand is by far the worst.
HighwayStar 8
1.Probably the call, although with stacks/blinds as they are, both moves are ghastly.2.For me, that's a good call, I find it very hard to fold AK at that stage of a tourney to just 1 bet. Very easily TT+, AQ+ for the shove, often you'll see AA/KK slowplayed from earlier positions at this stage as well - that is player read dependant though. What positions were the 2 players in?3.Bad play, gotta fold or shove to the checkraise on the flop. Probably fold. Depends on the read and the positions.Rank (Worst-Best)1.3.2.
