I was reading the no-limit hold'em section of phil hellmuth's How To Play Poker Like the Pro's and it seemed to be teaching really tight play. Screw me if im wrong, but isn't aggressive play the way to go? I don't see how you could win 9 WSOP events by playing the way he described in his book.
Hey, I don't have all the answers in life. To be honest, I've failed as much as I've succeeded, but I love my wife, I love my life, and I wish you my kind of success.

I haven't seen Phil play enough to totally pin him to a playing style but I would have to guess that he doesn't go by his own book. Sure that may be the foundation of how he plays but he has to stray from that quite a bit. In my opinion pure aggression isn't the way to go but any good play mixes it up quite a bit and I doubt Phil is any different.

Phill Helmuth is a very tight player. However, like all great players, he knows how to go with the flow; pushes when someone is weak, and falls back when someone is strong. Overall, he is a tight player and plays according to what is said in his book. You can be tight and aggressive...it's called tight/aggressive. :D Everyone has a different style. Phil Hellmuth is a tight player in my opinion.
