Make him as long as it's kept cheap. As played, checking behind is fine. We've got nothing but overs on the turn and villain could have anything from air to a flopped straight, and could be playing anything from rags to a premium hand, but we'll never know if we don't get a showdown.Though villain called, our raise on the flop appears to have slowed him down and we may see a showdown cheap. A showdown probably unravels the routine you say the villain's settled into.

Take the free card on the turn. He's called your flop raise OOP. He's only fired a CB 1/2 the time so he's not indiscriminately firing CBs at every flop. I actually think folding the flop would be fine since you whiffed and AJ sort of sucks in the early stages of a tourney.
