Why such a big raise PF? You only have 1 limper in front and it just increases the size of the CB you have to make on the flop. A raise to 200 would have been more than enough, no?

I was feeling the effects of bigstackitis and made a bigger than normal preflop raise

Typical preflop raise is 3xBB +1BB for each limper, so 240 is standard there, 280 is not that far off. As played, it looks fine. Once that river king hits, you can't fold.

I think it's perfectly reasonable in this kind of situation to keep the raise on the smaller side since with hands like AK/AQ you will 2/3 of the time be forced to make a CB to take the pot. There is only 1 limper in front and only one player left to act behind, so a raise to more than 200 seems like overkill to me.

Yeah, I really don't understand the river shove unless you think he's going to call, but normally the only player that will call here is someone that has you beat. Anyway, if you want anymore chips andyou think you are ahead I would rather check and let him take a stab at the pot. And if you honestly believe that you are ahead then check raise would be good, maybe. But I would just rather check/call.

Any hand that he limp/calls pre is beating you on this river. KJ, Q 10, 10 8. Even QJ or J 10 he probably wont call that river bet, figuring you have AK. I like a c/c a lot more than a shove, though you might be giving up a little value. The bet isnt horrible, I really think this one could go either way since the pot is bigger than the villain's stack.PS check out my new blog below.

Why not shove the river. If we are beat, Villian probably shoves behind if we check, and will shove if we fire out 600-ish. And If Villian is weak enough to open-limp UTG, he/she could very well pay this off with just a J or something like KQ/KT
