in strategy, be gentle. and i promise to switch to the converter from now on.i dont normally do this, but just thought i'd post these two. any suggestions would be highly appreciated, since these were very costly. two consecutive hands: $2/$4 Hold'em - Monday, May 02, 01:20:16 EDT 2005 Table Table 12487 (Real Money) Seat 5 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 1: mojoee ( $71.5 ) Seat 2: MrMastadon ( $57.25 ) Seat 3: judking27 ( $69 ) Seat 4: pauleta65 ( $99.5 ) Seat 6: mrdannyg ( $83 ) Seat 7: butter235 ( $22.75 ) Seat 8: valphoosier ( $185.5 ) Seat 9: WrigleyBlows ( $36 ) Seat 10: Naysay54 ( $92 ) Seat 5: LilScrump ( $95 ) >You have options at Table 39286 Table!. mrdannyg posts small blind [$1]. butter235 posts big blind [$2]. ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to mrdannyg [ Jc Ks ] valphoosier folds. WrigleyBlows folds. Naysay54 raises [$4]. mojoee calls [$4]. MrMastadon folds. judking27 folds. pauleta65 folds. LilScrump folds. mrdannyg calls [$3]. butter235 calls [$2]. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 8s, Jd, Kh ] mrdannyg checks. butter235 checks. Naysay54 shows [ Jh, Ah ] a flush, ace high. mrdannyg doesn't show [ Jc, Ks ] two pairs, kings and jacks. Naysay54 wins $59 from the main pot with a flush, ace high. on this hand, my preliminary read on butter was tight, so i planned on quickly folding the turn after the cursory call of the reraise, but then noticed he had almost no money left and his play could be due to that. $2/$4 Hold'em - Monday, May 02, 01:21:43 EDT 2005 Table Table 12487 (Real Money) Seat 6 is the button Total number of players : 9 Seat 1: mojoee ( $57.5 ) Seat 2: MrMastadon ( $57.25 ) Seat 3: judking27 ( $69 ) Seat 4: pauleta65 ( $99.5 ) Seat 6: mrdannyg ( $61 ) Seat 7: butter235 ( $18.75 ) Seat 8: valphoosier ( $185.5 ) Seat 10: Naysay54 ( $129 ) Seat 5: LilScrump ( $95 ) butter235 posts small blind [$1]. valphoosier posts big blind [$2]. ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to mrdannyg [ 9h 9d ] Naysay54 folds. mojoee calls [$2]. For the first hand, I think you should raise the flop because (even top) two pair is vulnerable. C/R on the turn is nice, although you need to be pretty sure someone will bet behind. And if you were pretty sure your opponent was on flush draw you could check the river, but I think the bet here is OK.On 2nd hand, why not cap the flop. The turn makes you very vulnerable as there are three to flush and four to straight, so slowing down makes sense. And realize the river for trips doesn't really help you if the draws hit, but since your opponent is all in he could be playing strange. For the third hand, I think you overplayed your tens. You should probably fold the turn since you would be called on the flop by top or mid pair, both of which now beat you.

okay. first hand. CR the flop, simple just do it.seind hand. honestly, looks okay to me. I don't se what you complaint is. AcQc is actually a favorite over your hand there and it looks like you were up against a good player as they capped that flop, weak players don't cap on flush draws with overcards. you got outplayed and out drawn. happensthird hand. fine. shit happens. The converter makes it eaiser to read the pot size as I really don't want to count all of the bets going in

i never really understood the logic behind check-raising the flop. i'll do it sometimes strategically, like to find out how my middle pair stacks up, or as a bluffing tool, but for a strong hand it seems silly. from past hands i was quite confident he would bet the turn.as for the second, i'm not mad, since AQs is not only a tiny underdog to 99, its a better hand in low-limit LHE since you are more likely to know where you stand. my read on the player was tight, and i only raised the flop to find out where i was, i had planned on folding to nearly anything post-flop. maybe this is weak, but i have no clue how to play 9s. as for the 10s, the table was playing quite tight, and with only the bb calling me, i was pretty sure he would try and make some kind of move, since that is often the case with low flops and only a blind defending it. with the bet on the flop in mind though, and the multitude of ways he could beat me on the turn, given his bet on the flop, i really think i could've laid that down on the turn. i was leaving the table too, so i wasn't worried about showing weakness.just a question, what does it usually show when someone bets, gets raised, calls, then bets the next round? i taught my friend it often means someone hit their two pair, or for a weak player, hit their draw, but i'd like some opinions.for instance, lets say i am late position, calling with KJ, a couple other limpers. raise from behind me, not in the blinds, but not from a loose player. i call, flop comes out blank blank king. i bet, he raises, i call. turns a jack, do i bet into him, or check-raise?and also, in that scenario where you flop top pair after there's a pre-flop raise behind you, do you bet into the raiser?thanks, daniel

My lines:1. call - c/r - /c-r - b/cGranted there are no draws on this flop, but there are still a whopping 7 people in. I think you must lead out or c/r this one.2. looks fine to me. hate those kinds of hands.3. again, looks about as good as it can. good play, bad luck.

thanks for the response, but on the first hand there are only 4 of us in. in a 7-way pot i might actually C/R the flop, even if there are no draws, just to build it up and to look suspicious in hopes of getting called. plus, with 6 other people in, runner-runner draws are somewhat significant even though i do have top 2.considering there are only 4 in though, should i still C/R that flop? wait for the turn? bet out from the get-go?

yes CR the flop. check calling is very weak and you didn't give us any reads. Plus the nature of your two pair makes a draw on the board. By just checkcalling you are allowing a oesd get by on just one bet. CR the flop, trust me
