Frez 0
Sure, I don't mind it. Although an $8-10 bet (2/3rds to 3/4s) does the same thing with slightly less risk.
antistuff 0
i guess my real question is should mp2 be checkraising the flop occasionally with an aggressive player in LP (both with a jack and sometimes without a jack, although they should usually have a large pair or something showdownable.) like not is the bet ok...do you consider it automatic? ahosang 0
Almost an auto-check for me...
checkymcfold 0
i bet against about 75% of various kinds of mp2s. the only time i'd check is if they were capable of c/ring EITHER a big pair or a jack here.
antistuff 0
Almost an auto-check for me...really? why?
ahosang 0
really? why?The way I play pot-limit is by pressuring people on the turn or river, so I don't need to bet this flop in PLO8 whether I have quads or just air. I have no problem with your style if it works for you. To expand on this, I've been thinking more about the psychology of players w.r.t. marginal hands and betting them to steal pots in PLO8. This idea ties in nicely with my favourite concept of PL poker - pot-manipulation. A check here is standard for me because the board is very 1-way by PLO8 standards. Any legit hand can call me down or raise me, so a bet doesn't really achieve much. Most of the pots I play are raised pre-flop, and I'm checking a lot of flops these days, and raising a lot more turns. Also, I'm bluffing a hell of a lot on the turn and river.
