simo_8ball 1
Ok, decided to play NLH for the first time in about 5 months because PLO is just disgusting me right now.Full Tilt PokerNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.15/$0.306 playersConverterStack sizes:Hero: $72.80UTG+1: $37.05CO: $59.55Button: $56SB: $24.50BB: $18.60Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG with K A Hero raises to $1.05, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB folds.Flop: 8 K 3 ($3.45, 3 players)SB checks, Hero bets $3, UTG+1 raises to $9, SB folds, Hero calls $6 (pot was $15.45).Turn: 4 ($21.45, 2 players)Hero checks, UTG+1 is all-in $27I haven't seen any hands he's played, and the PAHUD stats haven't appeared yet (less than 20 hands on him).Do I:a/ Snapcallb/ Sigh and callc/ Sigh and foldd/ Reraise/fold the flop. Acid_Knight 2
Combine A and B. Sigh, then snap call.I dunno. At those stakes, you'll get shown KQ and KJ way more than enough to make this profitable IMO. I mean, if he's got a set, wtf is he worried about?
ROBBBIGG 0
Snap call. Over pot shove? I think you're seeing frustrated Jacks/Queens
krup24 0
b definitely for me. i know i commented on your sigh before in challenge thread but it definitely applies here. your another king or underpair probably about the same amount of the time your looking at a set maybe even higher for K. simo_8ball 1
Yeah, I thought for a while, called, and he flipped a classic value bluff with KQo.Holdem is just so much simpler than PLO. Nearly fell asleep while playing because the decisions are so mindless (mostly). I think I might play NL until I can afford to dust off another 35 buyins of PLO running like shit. krup24 0
QQ or JJ, are you serious?rarely but it can happen <2% though

NoBBiR 0
nopeI agree that it is probably like <2% you'll ever see QQ or JJ. Personally, I always just ship it in when I have a few more bbs than the pot and I'm betting in these spots.
simo_8ball 1
what plo is just wait for the nuts and bet potIf you want some excitement play HUedit: ps sign on ftp so I can challenge you to some heads up PLO is so much deeper than NLHE. It's a MUCH tougher game.I played some PLO HU last week. Played 300 hands, got allin 5 times with the best hand, once with nuts+redraw vs nuts, and once as a 60/40 dog. I didn't win one of them. HU is entertaining and exciting, but the variance is mindblowing. That said, I wouldn't mind playing you HU. Despite the variance it is a lot of fun.
E-Cart6 0
Definately a call. I think he's gonna show KQ/KJ more often here. People tend to slowplay their sets much much more. A set seems very unlikely here. I'd snapcall. Probably even bet out the turn or reraise the flop. But you played it fine with such a dry board. I'd probably bet out the turn at such low stakes though, but he bet(allin even) and it all worked out. Snapcall and collect your money. I'd be really surprised to see a set here. If he showed a set i'd make a note about him not slowplaying sets(every1 else does at these stakes).I mean yesterday i saw some1 slowplaying a set so hard, he only won a 8$ pot vs top 2 pair at 25$ NL. He should've won a 50$ pot for stacks. But he slowplayed it so much and the board got straightening a lot that he barely won anything.

I keep trying to get better at it but it is a different beast. I think PLO FR or SH has extremely high variance as well. I'm kinda at the point where i'm not just playing the nuts but mixing it up a bit.I cannot even imagine HU PLO

I actually dropped 14 buyins in 1500 hands that day, and had to take a couple of days off.I wasn't playing bad either.I think I won 3/26 allins that day.

mtdesmoines 2
Go all in less next time. This reminds me ... so Saturday night I was messing around on Full Tilt, and decided to play (4) $10 NL tables with the premise that any time I thought I was ahead in the hand, I'd just shove all-in, regardless of the pot, etc. This isn't a long-term strategy, obv. I was just curious about how it would work. We were talking the other night at the card room about a guy who plays huge pots and pushes hard on player FE on almost every hand ... he plays about 2 hours and leaves and he has high variance but builds pots and accumulates stacks quickly.Much dif from PLO, I know ... anyway ... and I know it's $10 NL ... results: I busted on one table after about 15 minutes and left. I finished $1.25 up on the second -- never seemed like I was ahead.I finished at $48.75 on the the third.I finished with $42.50 on the fourth. I just thought it was interesting.
