I noticed PuzzleQuest got released for the Wii for 29.99.

It's a really cool puzzle game with RPG elements that came out on portable systems and got ported over.

Excited for Dragon Quest for the Wii next month. I played Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 back in the day and it was such an awesome game, although I think the one for the Wii will not be turn based.

That Dragon Quest is based off a different older title that is nothing like any of the traditional DQ RPG's. Also according to a few articles of written my the Japanese gaming press DQ is a really short game, less than 10 hours start to finish. You may just want to rent that one.

Major Releases through end of Feb for Wii.No More Heroes isn't a really hyped title outside of the industry, but it's being developed by some well known people with a good track record.

QUOTE (No More Heroes)
In this adventure game directed by Goichi Suda (of Killer 7 fame), you play as Travis Touchdown, a normal guy (with an otaku geek streak to him) who wins a Beam Katana through an online auction and uses the weapon to start a new career as a professional killer. One day, an assassin named Helter Skelter appears before Travis and the two face off in a battle. Travis emerges victorious and finds himself in the presence of Silvia Christel, a mysterious French woman who claims to be an agent with the UAA. Silvia gives Travis official rank of 11 in the organization. Now, it's up to you to become #1.

Just read that the other day, looks pretty interesting.

I still only own Mario Galaxy though, as far as real games go.

And with Rockband, I have barely touched Mario.

After downloading and playing around with the new channels i find the News channel to be a very fast and easy way to get international news delivered right to my WII! I also enjoy the weather channel as well. I downloaded some NES and SNES games so far and they seemed like they would be more fun than what they actually are. Now if my wireless would stop bein a bitch everything would be good!! (also, if i would stop losing my ass in poker things would be very good)

Just started playing Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition after getting 120 stars with Mario for a change of pace type of game and because it was so highly rated. Have never played anything from this series before. I am enjoying it thus far, the AI is really sharp, enemies try to surround you not just walk behind other enemies, etc. I'm not one for shooters but this is pretty fun currently.

It's the best version of the game, the Wii controls really improved it and for 30 dollars it's a great deal if you haven't played it before. Aiming with a normal analog controller sucked in comparison.

Also if you are into RPG's at all, Atlus is releasing Baroque soon. They have a decent history of making fairly solid RPG's so this would probably be a good pick up for the Wii.

Sounds interesting. I'm a fan of turn based RPG's such as Phantasy Star (SMS) and Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) but I also thoroughly enjoyed Baldur's Gate I and II on the PS2. I was hoping that Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii would basically be a Wii version of DQ8 on PS2 with new content but I guess not.

You might want to pick up Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It's a turn based strategy RPG (think Final Fantasy Tactics or Ogre Battle), fairly difficult game from my understanding too so it will actually be a bit of a challenge. I plan to pick it up after I beat the stuff I currently have.

I'm not a big fan of strategy RPG's per se but I remember Gamespot being one of the only sites to slam it which struck me as odd. I'm more into the dungeon crawling turn based RPG's.

Has anyone played Big brain Academy? I didnt think i liked it at first but after playing a few times it is growing on me. It feels good to give the brain a lil excercise once in a while. Plus, when playing against friends u can blow their scores away and make them feel dumb, lol.

2 questions: First, my damn internet people decided that I probably didn't want wireless, so I have to wait a week for them to bring me a wireless router. It seems impossible to wire the Wii to the internet - is this true?

Second, how do you download games? Is the easiest way to go to a store and buy Wii points, or can you do it online, or do you just go to the WiiStore on the Wii or whatever and enter all your credit card info, etc?

I always used wireless, I thought I saw a Ethernet connection on the back of the Wii for hard wiring it, I could be wrong though.

Second, buying Wii points online via CC is cheaper typically. You get 2000 points for 20.00 online, no tax. If you buy the card with 2000 points it's usually 22.99+tax.

Wii is Wi-Fi only so you're either going to have to wait till they bring you one or buy one at best buy or somewhere. The only way to get old school games is to download them off the Wii. Supposedly there are redeemable Wii gift cards to buy games with, but I've never seen one in any stores. There is a gift option to buying games now, so I guess another way is to have a friend buy the game for you and send it to you if you didn't want to use your credit card.

ya, buying wii points from the SHop channel is the cheapest/easiest way to go about it. The thing i like about the wii is everything is fairly simple and straight forward to understand. I'm not the most technilogical guy and i figured it all out pretty easily. You should be able to figure out how to download the games real easy. The only problem i have had with everything is my wireless connection has been spotty causing some major frusteration. NES games are 500 wii points which is 5$, SNES games are 800 i believe and nintendo 64 games are 1000 points. SO if you get a good game library it is going to get pretty costly:(.

I see them in the electronic section of Wal-Mart next to all the wii stuff but i reccomend you just get the points directly from the WIi Shop Channel.
