S7s Training

I have decided to take on one student.
The cost of tuition is 3k for six months.
The focus is the same as it has been in the past.
Core training is 6 months. And everyone has the option of staying on indefinitely for free.
Here are some things I need to know.
How old you are?
What you play?
What stakes?
Why you feel you need training?
What you do for a living?
The training itself is geared toward middle limit players.
My goal is to teach you how to be a winning player for life, not just for the week, month or year.
The training provided teaches you how to be a successful player. It does not teach you how to be a specialist in any game. If you are looking for a no limit coach, plenty of great people out there. But that is not me. If you want the skills to survive and thrive, this is the type of training for you.
Please send me a pm if you are intersted.
Also leave a message here letting me know that you have sent the pm. My inbox fills up rapidly, and I try and read all e-mails. If you are not selected, do not take it personally.
Good Luck.

just wondering I know in the past you have taken 3 students or so and did a sort of group meetings and mentoring. What made you decide just one student this time?
will this training be different because it is indeed only one person?

I have two AMAZING students right now. They had been in touch with me off and on for quite some time. I could not be more happy with there current progress. I want to make sure that this person fits well with this group, my past group, and myself.

Yes.
An interesting story. Our own Adam (Vick12) could not afford the cost of tuition. He sent a VERY small amount toward training as a sign of good faith and began his training. I honestly just loved his attitude. Well a year later he ended up making +150k from poker. Tuition never came up. But he did plenty of other nice things. I could not be more proud of him. He did an amazing job with training, and always help with new students.

I made a post a week or so ago trying to sell my poker books... as expected, it was quickly deleted. I assume it was because I was trying to sell something, and you can't do that here.
Steve's training isn't free... he's selling personal attention and help for thousands of dollars, I tried to sell a few books for 10 bucks a piece. I understand that Steve is a well respected poster and he's helped out quite a few players around here, but if you're gonna make rules, they should be enforced equally across the spectrum.

Do you seriously not see the difference between what you were doing and what Steve is doing?

That's excellent....I was just curious. I can afford your fees, but I'm ancient compared to the young guns in here (41). I have no aspirations to make poker a profession, only a very passionate hobby.
Good luck to you and your future proteges.

I think the difference is that you are selling a product which is probably a one time thing, whereas steve's programme has been going on a long time now and is obviously a trusted member.
Also I think that once you allow people to sell say poker books this could soon get into a 'for sale' board etc. which is not what anybody wants. I think there is a difference to seling a progamme which has helped many people and is a long term poker related thing, to selling books.
Also you could ebay your item..

That's a good question. Seeing as though I'm a mod, I will attempt to answer it. Although I'm not "the" guy to talk to about rules regarding the forum.
I never disclosed how much training was in the past. I simply stated that I did training, etc. In the last thread people didn't like the fact that I wasn't upfront about the cost of it. So for the sake of getting everything out there, I include the fee. If I wanted to be clever, I could say that it's a 3k "DONATION" to avoid this sort of topic.
I understand what you're saying. But also understand that a lot of deals have gone bad from people selling things from forums, so it's best to not have anything sold.
I am doing this to help people, if they want it. I hope that clears things up to a certain degree.

Like I said, I think what you do is awesome... I have absolutely no problem with you doing it.
And, I understand not wanting people to sell things on the forum... a rule that should absolutely be enforced to avoid people signing up just to sell something. I've been a regularly active member since the beginning, though... enforcement around here is inconsistent at best in a lot of cases, but since it's not really a paid position, it's not too off the wall.
So I'll just semi-hijack this thread
btw, Steve, did you ever get anything going with the animal charity idea?
