XXEddie 0
Ok, so like the topic says I am the villian. I really think Hero in this case made some bad plays here, but the river I agree was tough.I will describe the hand as the villian......1/2nl live and we are 7 handed. Me and villian are 2 top stack Each with about 300-350. Villian has been playing very loose seeing most of the flops.1 fold, Villian raises to 9, Hero calls with AJo, 4 folds.Flop(pot; $19); As Qc TsVillian bets $16, Hero Raises to $32, Villian callsTurn(pot; $81); 5hVillian checks, Hero checksRiver(pot; $81); TdVillian quickly bets $60, Hero.....---------------Ok, I really think HEro in this hand makes a big mistake on the flop, I like his raise, but it doesn't define his hand, I could have anything even after I call. I like his turn check to try and get to showdown cheap cause he can't be too confident. Once some discussion is posted, I'll reveal my holding and what my villian did, and you can discuss how I played the hand
Acid_Knight 2
Hero bets turn and avoids river decision? The flop minraise on that board is terrible.Checking behind on the turn is almost as bad.If you're folding you're putting him on exactly AK/KJ for having you beat on the flop or getting rivered by KT or JT.If you're checking this turn, you gotta call for a chop on the river. bassplayer45459 0
Min raise is ugly, make it bigger. Turn check is bad, lead out here. River is a call if he leads
Willing 2 Die 0
This preflop call on Hero's part is bad. Reverse implied odds play a big role here and is the reason i only raise or Fold with hands like AJ. As played, Villian's hand appears to be a missed spade draw, or possibly KQ

Villian has been playing very loose seeing most of the flops. Is the player with the AJ the one playing very loose or the PFR? I'm confused because I thought "me"=villain, but then it clearly isn't in the sentence with the stack sizes.
tskillz187 0
I'm pretty sure Eddie is the loose one, and not the AJ one.I think AJ messed this hand up bad. I think you are showing up with a bluff a lot on the river, or a chop, but I don't really like calling in hopes to chop. "Hero" absolutely needs to bet turn here, he took control of the hand on the flop and needs to keep betting for value here.Once hero checks turn, he allows tricky/loose Eddie to make a move. David_Nicoson 1
Fold preflop.I don't see a purpose to the flop raise. Is the hero trying to slow down the PFR? If so, just fold.Playing the river requires an understanding of the hero's preflop raising range. If we're calling for at best a split, then we'd have to split 60% of the time to break even. (Check me here. We get $100 when we split. It costs us $60. 60% of $100 is also $60.)If the villain shows up on the river with a hand worse than an ace any significant amount of the time, then we obviously need to call. Sheiky 0
People, Eddie is not the one with AJ (well he may acctualy have AJ), Eddie is the one described as loose, making comments on how hero played this hand is pointless as OP isn't the hero.I get the feeling this a post where we're all meant to tell you how bad the other guy played it and how you made a bluff that he should never have called but did so you think it's him who made the wrong play...I could be wrong though.FWIW i think hero is some random donkey who plays bad.No idea what OP has. And I did make it very confusing on who I was, I didn't have AJ as the title says you are playing against me.Now, usually at this game I play really tight, which is profitalbe cause I could fold for 2 hours, raises to 14 UTG, and still get 4 callers. This player was new, and I didn't have much of a narrow range on him. I figured Ax(AQ-A9 maybe, KJ or a missed draw) So I fire a rather large river bet seeing how there was only 80 in the pot. Anyone else at the table probably folds AJ there but I knew this was the one guy I could get a nice bet from. If he has a draw, he folds anyway, KJ pays me off(though most likely bets the turn) and I figured he would call with the A since he could think its chop.I had QQ, fwiw. You may comment on how I played it.
Sheiky 0
I think you played it fine. It's unlucky for you he didn't bet the turn, but 3-betting the flop wouldn't have been the right move imo because any hand that would call the 3-bet and give you more action on later streets is probably going to bet the turn anyway so calling dsguises the strength of your hand, while any weak hand like AJ is going to be hard pressed to put much more into the pot.Turn and river are fine.
