Help On Getting Xbox360 Set Up On My Surround Sound

Recommended Posts

Beans, where are you?Okay, just got a nice set of speakers for the family room.My current set up is this.TV is hooked up on the cable. I have a switcher that is connected to the TV and from the switcher I have a 360, Wii, PS2, and Xbox hooked up. I have a stereo receiver (analog) hooked into the cable box and an iPod dock. So when I am watching TV I get the noce surround sound. But the 360 is my DVD player as well as my gaming machine and I want to set it up so they go through the speakers instead of the TV. Would adding a cable from the TV to the stereo receiver do this? This is a diagram of my current set up done on paint. I am the next Picasso.setup.jpgThanks. Merry Holidays

Or, just thinking, take the video cable from the switcher and plug into the TV and then put the audio cables into the stereo?

I don't see the speakers you're talking about in this picture. Step 1: find the speakersStep 2: Step 3: profit
lol, no wonder I can't hear anything when I play my 360.

Steve, Run a set of RCA's from the Audio Out on your TV to one of the Audio In's on your Stereo receiver, then make sure you have that particular input selected (there's usually different channels for CD, mulitple Aux's, TV, DVD, etc, just make sure whichever one you choose to tie the RCA's into is the one selected) and your outboard speakers should act as your TV speakers, meaning they will give you surround sound for whatever is playing on your TV.
