i found this at Poker Stars FAQ section

"Cigital's reputation for excellence is well known in the gaming industry," said
Dan Goldman, Vice President of Marketing at PokerStars.
"Their previous
discovery of critical RNG implementation weakness at a major online poker site
made our decision to work with Cigital an easy one.
Their considerable technical
expertise and thorough approach to software reliability and security have
established them as a trusted third-party evaluator."

Which site? when ?

my comp. won't bring up simo's link, but i assume it's a link to the story from like 7 years ago, where the site's RNG didn't have as many seeds as there are possible hands and that the seed was set by the time of day.

believe me, the RNGs now are the best technology available.
if you're not playing the notes in front of you it's not mozart.

Anyone else ever play on Planet Poker pre-Moneymaker besides me? I remember the first time I loaded money on there. I started playing 1-2 LHE with a buddy. We were both in awe that anyone would EVER fold their cards before the floop...how could you fold without seeing what you had first?

im still not sold that many of these people that get these big online scores are winners when it comes to the live game, which, by the way, is real poker.

I started playing at Planet in Dec 98. At that time it was about the only online real money site. This was before Paradise had launched.

They had 2 3/6, 2 5/10 and 2 10/20 games. There were no waiting lists, when a seat opened up you had to be first to sit down to get it.

I was refunded a few hundred dollars by Planet from their RNG being figured out as 2 groups did it at about the same time. The one group who told Planet about it and the other who used the information to beat the games.
