custom36 5
um, chris folded moronShit, I got it backwards.I don't like the fold. You've been betting the whole way and now you're checking. That reeks of weakness.
wrto4556 0
I don't like the fold. You've been betting the whole way and now you're checking. That reeks of weakness. Are you suggesting that I bet the river?
custom36 5
I'm suggesting if you check, you'd might as well check/call to see what he's been calling you down with. You bet, bet, bet, fold. Seems to be a waste, considering any half-decent player is going to bet when you check.
wrto4556 0
considering any half-decent player is going to bet when you check. 8)

custom36 5
Hmm, alright, that half makes sense. As I say once in a while, I'm not a good limit player. Just tryin to learn.
wrto4556 0
He's not a half decent player. He's checking behind with busted draws and worse hands, he's betting anything that beats me.The river is a no-brainer fold, imo. I'm really just questioning the turn bet.

KDawgCometh 2
no comment on the turn bet?meh, I'd probably bet there myself hoping that he'd go away
DKE_XP120 0
no comment on the turn bet?I'd probobly bet, my assumption would be he is just calling with a J or 10 hoping for a gutshot, his range of hands could be anything, my guess would be either a Qx, Kx, or possible J-9, or maybe 10-9Either way you're beat, easy fold on the river, i'd say good bet on the turn

princeof56k 0
Button is borderline retarded. Calls anything preflop and postflop...typical loose/passive player. The way you classified this player I think is important. Was he calling everything all the way down to the river? Did he tend to fold on the turn? When he called your bet on the flop, did you feel that he must of caught a piece of it? If he has a pair with any kicker, he is probably going to call you all the way down to the river (judging by what you said about the player). Therefore you really have two choices1) You think he has made a pair and since you're beat (and he will call you down) you should check/fold on the turn.2) You think he is on a draw or has absolutely nothing when the flop hits. Therefore you should be betting on the turn and the river since you have the best hand.
wrto4556 0
He will call my turn bet with alot of hands that I beat, atm. Gut shots...and other what-not. The river he wont call with anything that I have beat. he may be calling with 77 the whole time, but he wont bet the river when checked to him. Is this coming across right? You probably played it as best as you could then. His river bet almost certainly means you're beat. And the turn bet is probably correct as most of the time he will be paying you off (since he could have anything).

If he truly will call your turn bet with anything, I'm wondering if the odds are in your favor here. It's really late here to be doing math. My hunch here is that at the turn you're a slight favorite in a heads up match against a random hand, but I havent done the math.If he's more selective with his hands, now thats a different story.
princeof56k 0
Well I got to thinking about the basic math about random hands he could have. Since you have 88 with a board of AKQ3, there are only 46 cards left in the deck. With 46 cards there 1035 possible hole card combinations he could have. The main ones you are worried about are ones where he has an A, K, or Q (yes J10, JJ, 1010, 99 and 33 are also a concern, but I'll worry about that later). If you pull the remaining A, K, and Q's out of the deck (9 cards total) that leaves you with 35 cards and a possible 595 hole card combinations without an A,K, or Q. Counting out 33 (3 possible combinations) and J10, JJ, 1010, 99 (6 possible each for a total of 24), that leaves you with 568 possible hands that he could have that dont hurt you (out of 1035). So against a random hand you are ahead 54.8% of the time on the turn. Using the same logic you would still be ahead when the 9 hit in the river (by only 51%) against a random hand.Once agian the key word here is random hand (everything from AA to 72os). Once you start eleminating certain hands he could have (both good and bad) the odds will change.Too much math for this time of night. If I made any mistakes, please point them out. dpianomn 0
i bet the turn there hoping for a fold, but seeing as you described him as SUCH a calling station, he's likely to call preflop with any paint-rag, and would, as you said, likely only bet on the end if he figured he had you beat. i think he definitely calls the river if you bet here.chris saves one BBdave.
