Hi,I just joined the site. I love it and was really excited to see my favorite poker player had his own website. My question is this:I am a 20 year old college student and play small 10 dollar buy ins probably twice a week. I finish in the money about 80% of the time. I play online in the play money in the 2000 nl game. I have built my play money roll up to over a million and have never used the rebuy button. I dont have a lot of money as I am a student. Are the online real money games containing a much better caliber of player? I am thinking of putting in 50 dollars and play ing but do not really want to lose any more than that. ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Please dont rip me apart this is my first post guys. Im just a dumb kid with a dream.

If you have $50, go to PokerStars and grind it out in the microlimits. Good luck.

If you play that much, its definitely worth it to put 50 bucks in and try it out, IMO. After all, I'm a broke college student too, so I know what u mean. And yes, there are many many terrible players playing for real money too, BUT, the play is definitely on a much higher level than the play money. I mean you can't expect someone to play the same way for fun as they do for real money. If you are more of a NL player, try out the NL $25 tables and some cheap sit n gos. You could also try out some $5 MTTs, lots of bad players there. You just have to play your normal game and can't do anything crazy like in play money. See u at the tables!peace,Brandon

If you want to fool around and get a taste of what it feels like playing for real money. Sign up to Vegas Poker and get $10 for just signing up. I know it's not much, but it give you a taste of what it feels like playing for real money. Even if you lose the $10 bucks, it's not your money, so it wouldn't hurt. Afterwards, you can decide if you want to deposit anymore at Vegas or other sites. good luckrchanpk1

Duuude. That's awesome. It's only 10$ but it's better than nothing. I'll take free money any day. Are there 50c/1.00$ tables to grind that shiz out?And what's the exact website? =D

I'm also a broke college student. When I started back in August, I put $50 on pokerstars and told myself that if I lost that, I wouldn't put anymore on. I certainly don't regret choosing PokerStars. I picked it at random, but it is a great place to learn the game with a small bankroll. I highly recommend you start there. The microlimit games will be only slightly different than play money. It's not like pros are playing the penny tables.
