I have been playing a little bit Laggy so far. It is 9 handed and I pick up AA in MP. I have about $700 the SB has about $400 and the BB has about $500. The BB just sat down about 10 minutes ago and the SB has been playing Laggy as well. There is a call in front so I make a raise to $20 not wanting to mess around with this hand and if I get only the blinds I am ok with that. Both the SB and BB make the call.$63 PotFlop - K J 6SB Check, BB Check, Again not wanting any draws to call me I bet out $100Both Call.$363 PotTurn - JSb Check, BB Check, What do I do now?

You want draws to call you and brick. $250.

Thats a scary card, I can't see someone calling a hundred there with AJ, so you can proba rule that out, KJ is good possiblility, Q10, AK, set of 66 for one and th J was scare card for them. I am assuming no flush or draw. I probably check here and see what peels of on the river as I cannot see how you are ahead unless they both have AK or I guess possibly KQ, but unlikley.

Yay! A good one. :club:============OP. If they are drawing, you want to bet the most you can get them to call their draw with. You don't want them to fold their draw.Similarly, you are NOT happy with the blinds. You want to raise the largest amount that you feel worse hands will call with.

If this is a rainbow flop I think we're overplaying it.

Check behind and reevaluate River. You are bloating this pot with vs. two big stacks with only one pair.Edit: Seriously, why would the BB just flat call 1/4 of his stack without having a big hand here?

I dislike the flop bet. I hate trying to put people on hands in situations like this becuase it's like "there's no hand that they should call $100 with."I think I check behind here. If there's no flush draw, then we are WA/WB. If someone's got QT, they have 4 outs. If they have a gutshot, they have 4 outs. It's very likely that we have 2 outs. I let them see a free river card and go from there. I'd value bet the river if they check to me.

It was a rainbow flop (sorry for no info on that) the turn put a flush draw up but I didn't feel like there was anyone trying to backdoor a flush on me. Being a little bit of a nit I checked behind.River was a blank 2Both players again check.Hero?

Yeah, time to get some value with this hand, bet $100-150.

I'm a pussy I probably check again, as the only thing we beat here is AK, KQ or Q10.
If the BB indeed has a set of 6's, then he's awful for checking it again on the second street. Most of the time the villian will be afraid that his check-raise will not go rewarded and attempt to get some value in here with a river bet.

True, I am guessing someone slowplayed KJ here and was trying to induce a bet.

Okay so now I need to confess. I actually didn't play this hand. It happened while I was playing yesterday and I was wondering how everyone here would've played it because I would've played it WAY differently than it played out.Turned out that the AA checked again and the SB had Q10 and the BB had JJ for quads. Now wouldn't everyone here Value Bet the JJ here?I personally didn't like how either player played the hand as I felt that there was a lot of missed money in this hand, but as it turns out the AA lost the minimum amount of money so you really can't blame him for that.

Wow. The BB really missed a ton of value on this hand. It just goes to show you again how bad 1-2 NL players are....

SB played awfully with QT. If he was the 2nd caller on the flop, it'd have been a good call. The set of Jacks played equally bad, missing all value from QT drawing and any bets that AA might have paid off. If I had the AA, I'd bet the river there like 100% of the time and fold to a reraise obviously.

Should pocket Jacks have raised on the flop or turn? I'm trying to decide for myself which would have been better (depending on Villian's competency of course)

The flop for sure. On the turn, it sucks because it's like "the J paired and now he's betting" and they'll likely put him on a J anyway and it'll be harder to get paid. With that much interest on the flop, it's an easy raise there to $250 or so.
