Keenan Blasting Kiprusoff

I can't find a link, but did everyone see Keenan laying into Kiprusoff after Calgary's loss?You know what I saw when I watched Calgary's game last night? I saw a Calgary team coughing the puck up numerous times in their own end. The Flames were a team that not only weren't playing within their system, they weren't even playing any system. I saw Phaneuf so tired in overtime that he couldn't even attempt to back check. All of these things can be directly attributed to the coaching. It is typical Keenan crap. Make all sorts of coaching mistakes, then throw your own players under the bus. If Iginla wasn't playing so well, you know Keenan would lay into him as well. I am a Canuck's fan, so I can't say I am saddened by the Flames struggles. It is just unfortunate to see Keenan try to soil Kiprusoff's name, the same way he tried to do it to Shanahan, Hull, Linden, Weiss and so many more.

Kiprusoff has played average at best this season. That wouldn't be so bad if he was making the average salary.

Have to agree as well.Keenan's tactics only work on some players. We will see how Kiprusoff responds.

He hasn't stolen any games, but I have to ask how many Flames games you guys have been watching. They consistently give up amazing scoring chances. When the score was 3-3 in the Columbus game, the Jackets had two separate glorious scoring chances off of either weak defensive coverage or Mccabe like give aways. He is throwing Kipper under the bus to deflect attention away from his own crappy coaching, a tactic he has used everywhere he has been since he left the Rangers.

I actually watch almost every Calgary game. They usually play one of the late games and I find Vancouver to be extremely boring so I watch Calgary. Also, I have Lombardi on my fantasy team.Not only has Kiprusoff not stolen any games but he seems to give up at least one bad goal in every game.Please give an example of this "crappy coaching" of which you speak. It's amazing how he suddenly forgot how to coach when he left the Rangers.

I gotta agree with DM. Keenan gets a lot of flack for some of his moves, but in my opinion, he is a great coach. Terrible GM, but thats besides the point! The games I have watched, Kiprusoff has looked shaky and unlike himself. Now, that might be due to Keenan's ways, but still, as a professional, Kiprusoff should be better than that and be able to ignore his concerns about getting pulled or berated.

That made me loool a bit.On a serious note though, I seem to recall the debate that has come up with Flames fans in the last season or two about Iggy/Kipper. Basically it was thought the Flames would not be able to afford both. I thought this was an easy decision, i.e. keeping Iggy. I mean Kipper had one miracle year, and a pretty solid season after that. But let's be frank here, he's not getting any younger. A solid goaltender is almost always available for the right price, esp at the trade deadline. Guys like Iggy come around once every 5-10 years. The only other current players I think you can classify on the same level as Iggy are Lecavlier, Thornton and Shanny like 5+ years ago. But they managed to keep both anyway for now. I think this season is solidifying my opinion. Iggy is still racking up the pts, despite the poor play of his team. He fights and does whatever he can to get a spark. As Dale pointed out, Kipper has not stolen a single game this year.
