I'm sure this question has been asked many times but I'm gonna ask it again. Is multi-tabling really a good idea. Here's why I ask:To have an edge in a poker game you must pay attention. Pay attention to the other player's styles, betting habits and patterns, chip stacks, looseness, tightness, etc....I've played 3 or 4 tables at a time and theres no way you can get a real feel for the other players because most of your time is spent jumping from table to table. Do multi-tablers basically just play their cards and rely on "by the book" play and the mathematics of the game?

Pretty much, yeah. The note-taking feature helps a ton because when you see something interesting, you jot it down, and check your notes if you're up against that player. When multi-tabling, you're playing more by the book and odds, but you still use tells on players.

if you are a profitable player, even without pokertracker it is probably worth it to play 2 or 3 tables at a time.... If its worth more to know more about the people, don't do it... if its worth more to get 2 or 3 times the amount of hands in, do it.. whichever outweighs the other, go for it.... personally i multitable because for one i get bored when i fold preflop and watch all the jackasses take their time and get disconnected.
