Axs - Flopped Nut Flush, River Pairs

I value bet the river because I figure any Q is calling (or raising) and a set would have spoken up sooner. Villain's raise leaves only $3 behind. Call/push/fold? Is the value bet ok here on the end or should I be check/calling here?

Yeah, do this. He'll show you J8hh or KJhh.Really though, this is simple. Since you're never folding and he's never folding if you shove, just get the last $3 of value outta the hand.

Since I had the nuts up to the river I'm not sure how B is possible. The question was more - is it ok to value bet a flush when the board pairs given the way the hand has gone down. The consensus seems to be yes and then get it all in when villain raises. BTW, unlike many I post hand where I win as well as where I lose. There's always a question of maximizing your ev in my mind.

We're just giving you a hard time cause we're all almost positive you lost the hand. You really played it fine. If there was some idication that he might have a set/2 pair before the river, yeah, I'd be a little more worried. As it is, just get the chips in there.

I think you see Q9/QT here a lot. But, you just never know when someone's slowplayed a lower flush, or overvalued their AQ/KQ/QJ.Technically you're probably better just calling the raise, but I think it's the psychological fact that if he flips over a worse hand you feel dumb for not getting his last $3, but if you shove you're indifferent to the $3.Also, there's the chance he has you beat but times out or disconnects or misclicks fold. That adds some value.

He had 2 pair and never saw even a Pot Sized bet. He did EXACTLY what you were trying to get him to do. You were trying to maximize the value of the pot and string him along. So when he Rivered you, Plan executed as intended, wrong outcome.
