LJB723 0
Villain is very, very loose bit of a calling station as well.Game #6394210144: Holdem NL £3 (ID5940951) £3+£0.60 - Hold'em NL (15/30) - 2007/11/23 - 16:18:31 (UK)Table "5940951 - 1" Seat 10 is the button. I checked the flop because I wanted to give him the chance to bluff the turn as I had been playing very tight. Turn re-raise threw me, hence the flat call there and on the river. His bet sizing is bizarre as well, I just didn't know wtf to do!Cheers
simo_8ball 1
Firstly, don't post the bloody results in the title.Preflop is standard.Never check this flop. Ever. Never ever. You've hit a good flop. Bet it.I like your turn and river play. You can't fold for such small bets.
Wingman008 0
Firstly, don't post the bloody results in the title.I think he means he's lost in the hand. Not that he lost the hand.Anyways, yea. Bet the flop.Odds tell us to call the river, and the turn is going to be a call with his less than double rr.PF raise is a bit loose, I would normally fold it, but to each his own. Sorry LJB.I seem to be filled with rage for some reason. It's a good thing I'm not a mod - I'd have banned at least two dozen people in the last few days for absolutely nothing.I miss internet poker. LJB723 0
Yeh, I did mean lost in the hand. I'll post results later if anyone gives a tiny rat's ass.I thought betting the flop would get rid of the guy instantly, I thought I'd give him some rope to hang himself.OK, so we bet the flop, what happens if we get raised here? Is this a stronger play by our opponent (top2, set, made flush)Say the action went. Flop - Q63 (all spades)Villain: ChecksHero: Bets 170 in 210 (this is my usual play)Villain: Raises to 500Am I dumping it here, or essentailly pot-comitting myself on the turn?Apologies for the hypothetical scenario. And I don't think a button raise with Q9 is that loose vs the blinds. They'd be worried by a lot of flops against a tight player such as myself

Those make up a small % of his checkraising hands IMO. In that scenario I shove, and I'd be fairly happy about it.I don't want to check the flop and let him hit an overcard or higher spade. Meh, I don't hate it (despite my original comments) and I think I often check behind there, but I play passively at times.I often give advice counter to how I would play the situation at the table, because in general I think it's better to advise ABC poker in this kind of environment. The ABC play is to bet because 1. You have a good hand and 2. You are vulnerable to some turn cards.

I can't imagine he'd check with a set and risk giving Hero a free card with a single spade.
