Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is BB with 7 icon_suit_heart.gif 7 icon_suit_club.gif
3 folds, MP1 calls, 5 folds, 5 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: 5 icon_suit_spade.gif A icon_suit_spade.gif 5 icon_suit_club.gif (2.5SB, 2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

Turn: 9 icon_suit_club.gif (2.25BB, 2 players)
Hero ?

Is this a raise preflop?

Do I fire again on the turn, or check/fold?

I bet again because the 9c can't be that helpful to anything you would imagine your HU opponent calling with on the flop. You're scared of being slowplayed, but that's no reason to start playing passive. Whatever made you feel good on the flop would be the same, most likely, on this turn.

People come to Washington believing it is the center of power. It was only much later that I learned that Washington is a steering wheel that's not connected to an engine.

I look at the Senators and pray for this country.

It may be true that you can't fool all the people all the time, but you can fool enough of them to rule a large country.

A case can definitely be made for raising preflop for value.

I'd bet the turn here, fold to a raise, and c/c a lot of rivers.

How many players are at this table?!?!?

I raise it preflop. In a HU pot you have value against a limper, despite being OOP.

I bet the turn and fold to a raise. If you bet out, he's only usually raising better hands (you lose only 1 bet against a better hand as opposed to c/c c/c), and he is calling with a lot of worse hands. If you check, he probably takes a free card with a lot of his hands (flush draws, low pairs, K high, etc.).

Leading is far better against almost all of his range.

I could go either way on preflop.

After we decide to just check preflop anyone like c/cing the flop here? I dont think there is much value in a bet there in a pot that small. C/c does make it harder to play on the other streets though. Would this change if the flop was rainbow?

As played Id b/f the turn.

I don't like checking the turn because it reveals the fact that you were only CBing the flop, and tells him that his flop call scared you...
Also, check-calling the turn gives you no information about his hand, since the villain will be betting 90% of the time when you check to him on this turn.
