Just wanted to get some opinions on posting the BB. I usually wait for the BB...but sometimes I sit down at a full table and just miss the BB. In the cases where I feel impatient, I usually just post (from CO). Should I be doing this? Or should I try to be more patient and let the 8-9 hands play out?

CO and natural BB are really the only positions you should be posting from, everything else is negative EV.

And the CO is just barely +EV. It's best to wait until its your turn to post. The only time I post anywhere else is when the game is just too juicy...I get impatient.

I've been known to post as early as MP1 if the game's really juicy. That's as far as I go though.

Nope... think in terms of the fact that your goal is generally to average making 4-5BB per 100 hands, that extra BB you throw out there is an immediate cost that you then have to make up. I see it as an increase to your VP$IP. In addition, it's generally good to watch an orbit if possible before playing your first hand. If you see a dude throwin cash in every hand, or someone who has yet to play a hand, it tells ya little things that can help you when you are forced to be in the BB.That said... I do the same thing. Wish I could do as i preach. Oh well. :D
