If anyone ever wonders how the super high cash game pros stay loaded when the margin of skill amongst them is so narrow, it's whales like Guy.

So instead of David losing 600k 66% of the time (ie losing 400k in equity), he loses like 47k 100% of the time.
I try to be respectful when criticising others, but LOL that's unbelievable. I hope David ships 25k in the way of that charity Guy is playing for

I think he treats the game like an older brother playing with 12 year olds 10c/20c - he can't be hurt at all but knows that that $20 bucks is worth quite a bit to the kids. He's net worth 1.5 billion (wiki), so it's like 0.05% what he's got. He's not really there for the money and I believe he's a genuinely nice guy and knew that 600k would be an amount that David would lose some sleep over (maybe not that much, how much is he worth). Still I can't help thinking that he just didn't feel like gambling for some pocket change - that's not exactly good poker, but still I don't think he did it to be liked. He's just a nice guy with a lot of money - I'm sure the other players loved it and would want to play with him more ;] , I just appreciate it.
Yeah, your right. David is 33% to win 1.2mil, so he's investing 600k for a 33% chance at 1.2mil, ie. investing 600k to win 400k = -200k equity
