Fold, the 900 was just begging to get raised, you may as well have bet the minimum. I'd check that flop, you have enough chips back to fold if he shows a liking for it. And any "normal" (1600+) size bet could get you pot commited potentially drawing very thin.

I have no problem with the 900 bet. Hard to surrender a 3150 pot when you only have 4220 left. Especially considering you got in the last raise preflop. If you dont bet, you have little chance of ever winning that pot. While 900 is a small bet into that pot, its a significant portion of your opponents 2875 stack. That bet only needs to work one out of every four times to be very profitable, and you likely take it down every time your opponent didnt flop a flush draw, or a pair of aces or better. Id much rather make the small bet and fold to a reraise than check and surrender the pot.

The size of the bet relative to his stack is a minor factor here. There are two problems with such a small bet here: (1) the bet looks really weak, which invites your opponent to push you off the pot...especially when there is a scare card on the flop; (2) you're giving him irresistible pot odds to stay in the hand and chase something to beat you.

pot odds dont really apply when he has to call off another third of his chips to stay in the hand. his stack size isnt a minor factor here, its a major factor. If youre saying he could just call the bet to hit his draw, there will now be 5000 in the pot and he has 2000 left. If hes chasing hes not calling the flop. Hes folding or pushing. If he has 30000 you can justify calling, with 3000 you cant. Are you saying he should check the flop and fold? Or bet more than 900?
