I have been getting my ass handed to me lately. So much I am gunshy, second
guessing my reads, timid in pots I know are mine. Its just been a relentless
last cpl of months with the miracle rivers.

But this hand has nothing to do withrivers.

Playing a $20 single table SNG on UB, this guy namedFaulker1 was insanely
aggressive. Just a donkey you love to have around. No idea were the fold button
is no idea how to bet anything but pot. Doesnt care about position. Doesnt care
about the board just bets pot every chance he gets. And played 8 out of 10
hands. By hand 109 of this SNG he has probably played 80-90 to the turn ATLEAST. Only 2 or 3 preflop folds.

Has an enormous chip lead going into heads up. 12,000 to my measly
3000 and constant pressure. I widdle him down to 4000 and then loose to the
floodgate of luck not on my side. So i buddy list this guy incase he ever sits
down at a ring table I wanna be there. Couple hours later sure enough he sits
at a NL table. The only seat available is on his right. Not ideal but for how
aggressive and oblivous this guy is I will take it. Its not the highest stakes but
how much do I really expect a guy like this to have behind him.

First hand I come in 3rd MP or Early late postion however you want to classify
me.

I have Jh10H and a big blind posted. 3 callers so i just check. Faulker1 just dbl taps it to $2
both Blinds call and the flop comes 5s 7h 8h with 5 players.

Everyone checks to me. I know faulker1 is betting this and fairly confident he is betting pot.
I dont really want to call pot but I dont want to call a pot bet with my defensive bet in
there either. So i check it to him to try and draw as cheap as possible if no1
check raises.

Theres 10 in the pot at this time. Faulker1 bets $4 not a pot bet. Hmm? All fold to
the guy to my right who pops up to 8. Its less than I wanted to call but still I
just want to fold. I dont want to be in the middle of an unknown and an
aggressive donk capable of anything in a 2 way contested pot.I just dont want to get caught in the crossfire.

But then I give credit to the unknown for playing back at this guy based on his playing history
and figure I will make one call if I hit on the turn I scoop and more than
likely and drag one of them with me. Faulker1 folds to the min raise and mycall. On turn 9h comes I got
my str8 flush and dude bets into me all in. Not perfect book play but it worked.
So theres the background coming up to the hand in question.

I dont limp or even play another hand for 23 hands Faulkner1 has been in every hand.
Raised 9 of them called PF pot raises 6 of them and limped 8 times.

So here is the hand and my thought process please tell me what you think because I dont think I am processing very clearly with all the beats lately.

My thought process here when i get my cards is I would love to isolate Faulker1 but I also dont want
to commit alot of chips preflop and get more than just Faulker1 calling and be
way out of position to face tough decision on the flop. So instead of popping
him right there with the other 3 in the hand. I decide to basically concede the
hand unless i hit on the flop. Just call with Pocket 10s. Theres 12 cards in the deck that could come on that flop that are harmful to me and I hate my position.

Conceading preflop my problem?????

When I hit the only flop that will make me contest hereiI actually cringe. Its a dangerous flop. I
dont want to see any 9,Jack, or 4 on the turn. I dont want to bet half pot cuz
anyone with those draws are calling and I dont want to commit chips and have them hit there draw on me. The guy to the left of Faulkner1 is fairly solid but it doesnt appear anyone at this table cares about pot odds vs hand odds so anyone here with a part of this flop isnt going anywere in my mind. No flush to worry about yet but.... & I dont want to see a king on the turn either for another str8 draw hand possibility. Do i bet, do I smooth call, check raise, or
fold. What would you do here? Here is what I did and why I did it?

Betting= I dont like it cuz anyone with drawing hand is near this board and
theres only 8 in the pot and if they want to draw they calling 8. I suppose
betting out here is ok but I dont like it. And having them call doesnt give me any real solid read on their hand.

Call= I could already be beat by j9 so i need a paired board. But calling gives
me no NFO on what they have and allows them to dictate the hand. Check calling
here is probably the worst idea in my mind.

Fold- why not on the flop alone theres 12 cards you dont want to see it costed
me 2 bucks and this doesnt seem worth fighting for the 2 chips in the pot with
my name on it. But I got top set and I got the guy I want in the pot I may have lil commited but I just cant make a valid enough argument to fold here to myself.

CHeck raise- no1 else is going to bet more then $8 and faulker1 probably going
to do it. He aggressive enough for me to have faith in him. And when it comes
back around to me if I push all in for $48 he cant call on a draw. This isnt a
tournament. So I figure Check raise all in is my best play here. But can I check raise for less to get him out. will 20 do it. what about 25-30? For some reason I answered no to all of these and figured the only way i take this is if I can end it right here on the flop and the only way I see how to do that is ALL IN. I just cant see anyone with the str8 already.

Am i right???? what did I miss? what do you think I should of done? I have no
read on any of the other players except they are tight. They played maybe 1 hand
in the 24 hands since I have sat down. What did I do wrong?? Is this just
another case of being unlucky???

Heres the actual Hand history.

Well I am really glad I put this up for public consumption.

Got one guy trying to set reply records. Another member encouraging his stupidity, and the top dog of them all calling me a donkey when he cant even read the hand history correctly?

Thanks vander. VBN i tried to put it on the strat board and its been locked already cuz I posted over here first by accident.

Hmm that's too bad. Zach, maybe we can lock this one up and unlock that one? Seems like he put some effort into writing it...

When I go to a fast food restaurant, and my order comes to $6.28, I like to give the cashier $18.71. They look at me and say 'What's this?' and I say 'I'm all in'. They usually fold.
