so since I'm canadian and play with USD, every time I cash out I have to convert those USD to CAD. Right now, as most of you probably know, the USD is doing very bad. Last I checked it was something like 1.07USD=1CAD ... I lost about 5k dollars in the last couple months simply because of that. I don't keep all of my roll online but I do keep like 75% of it and I'm not sure what do do next. I heard predictions, can't say whether the source is credible or not (someone heard that and told me/wrote about it....etc), that in a year 2USD will = 1CAD...that was the extreme which I believe was written in the forum, some guy said he read that in Mcleans from an economist's predicition. Now that means that I will lost A LOT more $ if I keep my roll in sites that use USD as their primary currency.
Now I had an idea to switch to a Euro site since the euro is much more stable. Problem is I don't know of any good euro sites, let alone, of any euro sites. I'm wondering if someone here plays in any of them and if so, do you recommend them, why or why not? etc etc etc...Are the games softer in Euro sites? Are there as many CR members there?
I really like FTP and am having lots of success there but I don't know if I can justify to keep my money in there. Is there anyone here who knows anything that's credible about the USD and the CAD forecasts? Later today, I will be going to the bank and will be speaking with an investment specialist. I will update once I get more info.

Change the bolded.
Gabe: But Rhinestone, I don't want to have to keep re-depositing and waiting for withdrawls.
Me: Isn't it better than losing 5k in the conversion rate?
Gabe: But what if I drop 5 or so buy-ins and go online broke?
Me: You will want to take a break anyway right?
Gabe: Who am I kidding, the odds of me dropping 5 buy-ins is about the same as the odds of me moving out of mommy's house instead of buying a phat ride.
Me: Good for you guy. Good for you.

There are some European sportsbooks where you can have your account in $CDN and when you move the money to the poker room it gets converted into $USD and then back to $CDN when you leave the poker table.
Playing at a poker site or network where the games are in Euros will mean that you are paying more rake since the maximum rake will be 3 Euros instead of $3 USD for example.
Your problem is common to many non-Americans who play online. Your best solution if you are concerned about keeping too much in $USD is to cash out a large amount of your balance and leave that in $CDN and be ready to redeposit if you have to.
Any predictions on where the exchange rate between the US and Canadian Dollars is going to be is just speculation and nobody can know for sure.

i dont know which knuckle headed economist said that $1cdn will probably be $2US soon, theyre the one economist in canada that thinks that.
the general concensus amongst economists right now is that the dollar is overvalued by around 10 cents/$1, and will fall back to around 85cents in the next 12 months or so

everything I have read so far points to this as well. and if it doesnt happen automatically, the government will adjust rates to make sure it becomes more stable.

We are both being judgmental, the only difference is my judgments are well reasoned, well presented and actually have something to do with reality whereas yours are inane assumption wrapped in a steaming pile of contradiction.

You've cashed out 75k USD in the last couple months? because thats the amount you would need to cash out to have a 5k differnce.
If you've managed to cash out 75k USD in a few months, the exchange rate should be pocket change. just keep cashing out 75k every few months and you'll be doing fine.
Here is a better idea than switching to a euro site. try keeping track of the USD and the CAD, and not having heeps of cash online. it doesnt do you any good istting in your online account. keep what u need for swings and thats it.
remember, the 75k (if you have 75k) that you have in your canadian bank now, will (by your post) be worth 150kUSD in a year.
