no not baxter 0
I think goals are a great way to improve yourself and I think we should all list our monthly, yearly, or whatever goals in this thread. I will post mine after I give them more thought. However, when setting your goals, remember to make SMART goals (just learned this acronym in class) and take it seriously. Mean what you are saying. Do not just do it for the hell of it.SpecificMeasurableAttainableRealisticTimelyMake sure your goal is high enough.Be very detailed in writing your goal.Make sure the goal you are working for is something you really want, not just something that sounds good.Make sure a goal does not contradict any of your other goals.Fire Away! It already exists? Oh cool!Ya, but I think monthly goals are a little on the short side and I think longer goals are good too. Also, a lot of people do not go to strat and I am trying to let people know how important goals are and I think everyone should make some good goals. jethrodull 0
I deposited $100 90 days ago on FTP and after I doubled it, I thought, well, maybe I can double it again. So I did. Then, I thought, well, let's double it again and do it by the end of October, which would be 90 days. So, double every month....last night, I got it over $950, so I have met that goal. I don't think I can double every month from here out playing sng's and the occasional mtt, but I now have a goal of making $500 per month playing in them. For me, I don't know what is "attainable" and "realistic", so I'm playing it by ear. I wouldn't have thought that I could get to $900 in 90 days playing low limit sng's and the occasional mtt. J

no not baxter 0
Just curious why everyone at Pokerhaus always wants to put down FCP? I'm sure there aren't any non-serious posts over there.if i posted a serious thread like this one..a vast majority (if not all) of the responses would be seriousLook at this thread and its seriousness....You might say, well then why didnt you just post this on pokerhaus. Well, I wanted it to see a wider audience because I thought it would be a good topic that would improve a lot of people's games.
gibler321 1
Just curious why everyone at Pokerhaus always wants to put down FCP? I'm sure there aren't any non-serious posts over there.i don't think everyone does it. just when someone makes a serious thread here about poker in general, there are always people who make it a joke. pokerhaus and fcp are good forums to look at. pokerhaus is more serious IMO, while fcp is more laid back

Well, I wanted it to see a wider audience because I thought it would be a good topic that would improve a lot of people's games.Think that might have something to do with it? Still doesn't make it okay for people to constantly be taking jabs at FCP because Pokerhaus is so much "better". If that were true, none of you would ever post here. I'm not saying there aren't a ton of dumb asses that post on this site but there are a ton of people who post here often as their primary site that don't need to constantly here how "great" that other site is compared to this one. In those nice little flippant ways it is always done as if posting on that other site makes you automatically above anyone who doesn't post there.

JWow, nice work!!I was just revising that acronym for PE class so i'll post.My goal is basicaly to keep improving at poker, learn all the games, not get disheartened when i don't do as well as i should, and generaly get my head sorted out when it comes to poker(and life). It doesn't matter how well you can play on any given day, what seperates a lot of players is the way they deal with the peripheral mental issues like BR management and tilt controll, i'm not a talented player. I love this game, so i'm gonna make damned sure i don't let my state of mind in my outside life(which is all too often bad) interfere with how i play poker.
Ward 0
Good topic I make goals every month. Let me start by saying I am a low limit player and work 50+ hours a week and have a girlfriend that takes up a lot of time so my goals are not very big to the avg person. Anyway enough bullshit.. POKER GOALSDon't play anything but $4.40 180 man sit n gosPlay 50 in the next month with no more than 2 at a timeProfit $150 min I would say my goal would be $200 thoughDo not tilt (sometihng I am famous for)Keep detailed records (something hard to do when your tilting)Play my best every hand, play one hand at a time then move to the next. Just F'in winI really am trying to improve my bankroll mgt. Just playing 4.40s is really hard for me lol If people are interested I will be more than happy to let you know how I did.
