Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($70.35)
MP2 ($49.25)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7, 8.
2 folds, MP2 raises to $1.75, MP3 calls $1.75, 3 folds, Hero calls $1.25.

Flop: ($5.50) A, K, 8 (4 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $4, MP3 folds, Hero calls $4.

Turn: ($13.50) 7 (3 players)
Hero bets $9.5, MP2 calls $9.50.

River: ($32.50) T (3 players)
Hero bets $19, MP2 raises to $34 (All-In), Hero pukes a little

The only reason I call on the flop is that I've seen villain make some horrible payoffs and figure he'll stack off to me if I hit my 5 outer. I think I horribly misplayed the turn. If I check and villain pots it I can crai. If I check and he checks behind I can c/c this horrible river card. If I'm going to lead the turn I need to bet pot or pretty close to it. Any opinions other than fold the flop?

Pretty sure you need to fold the flop, like always.

I can't imagine folding the river for $15 into $70.

Meanwhile, betting it may have been bad given the stack sizes, especially if you're unsure of what to do with less than a min-raise.

why would you bet the river there? Every possible draw comes in and you bet enough to commit yourself?

I'm not putting villain on a draw. I have him on Ax. The only thing that improved on the river is AT. The bet is for value. If I thought he'd call a shove with AQ/AJ I'd shove.

The question for me on the hand is really on the turn play. Should have stopped the post at that point.

I know the flop call is loose at best. I know I can't fold for 15 into a 85 pot at the end.

Edit: the only other thing I considered on the river is something like KdXd which of course is improved by the river and likely plays the hand a lot like this.

I know you know the flop call is loose.

But seriously.

It's basicaly a 2 outer.

Because Two pair is like the worst hand in the world.

I think your flop play is the issue, once you hit two pair on turn I think you have to call. The river I would have checked and then maybe called. Now don't get me wrong if the flop was A97 I would agree with you but the issue is with an AK on the board you could already be (basically dead).

The other issue is you said you put him on an Ax hand. I think this is a mistake you need to put him on a range of hands, not just guess that he has Ax because there is an A on the board and he is betting. There is a ton of things he could have including a set.
