fold on third.. there is already another 8 and 9 dead, you aren't likely to be hoping for a "best hand holding up" scenario. You need to improve and are down to 3 obvious outs in the deck to do so.. In fact, the case 9 is the only clear cut winner, because 9's up isn't likely to be the winner at showdown.Fold on third. You 9 upcard also won't translate well into aggressive later street play, because no one is fearing your 9.

i disagree with this. i'm not sure how micro stud plays, but if you're folding this at any sort of reasonable limit you're not a winning stud player. my line would be thus:raise third, and cap it after the one guy who might be beating you gets all in. bet fourth, and c/f fifth to that many overcards and a paired door card hitting.

In ultra-micro (.01/.02) and $1 tourneys, you are generally going to have to showdown in most scenarios. Thats where the dead outs come into play. Of course, the second he gets into (.05/.1) and up, aggression will make a significant difference in his profitability.
