Expensive draw with two other players in - are pot odds/implied odds still correct?1-2 Limit10 :D 9 :) in UTG. Call, Mp1 calls, Mp2 raises, BB and all three call.Flop: K :) J :club: 8 :D I check, Mp1 bets, Mp2 raises, BB folds, I call, Mp1 threebets and Mp2 caps ... I call.Turn: K :club: J :club: 8 :) 2 :club: Mp1 and Mp2 cap betting again, I call 4 BB with OESD plus flush draw.River: K :club: J :D 8 :club: 2 :club: 8 :club: I miss and fold.Against most likely a set and two pair, was calling down with a draw like this correct on flop and turn?

1-2 Limit10 :D 9 :) in UTG. Call, Mp1 calls, Mp2 raises, BB and all three call.first mistake is calling preflop with this hand. on the button, limped to you by several people, its okay. UTG it isn't. Had to call the one more though once you limped.Flop: K :) J :club: 8 :D I check, Mp1 bets, Mp2 raises, BB folds, I call, Mp1 threebets and Mp2 caps ... I call.you're calling two cold with we'll call it 7.5 OESD outs (slim chance of the A10) and 1.5 backdoor flush outs. Getting 5.5 to 1 pot odds, and you need 38:9, a little more than 4:1.Turn: K :club: J :club: 8 :) 2 :club: Mp1 and Mp2 cap betting again, I call 4 BB with OESD plus flush draw.these calls are never fun to make but they're mathematically sound, so yea..River: K :club: J :D 8 :club: 2 :club: 8 :club: I miss and fold.and it's rough when you miss, but everything was mathematically correct postflop. the only thing i would have done differently is fold preflop.

i think you had better raise that pre-flop or fold.(lean towards folding. :D )suited connectors and other speculative hands don't work well out of position because:1. they need to see a flop cheaply. in late position, you know if the pot's been raised (so you can fold). in early position, you have to guess that it won't get raised, and you'll frequently be wrong. when you pay two before the flop, your implied odds are drastically cut in half, and that kills a lot of the power of suited connectors.2. you can't use any free card plays post-flop. in late position, you can bet for value if you have an equity edge, and then check the turn if you miss to get a free card. similarly, you can raise for a free card on the flop. in early position, betting for value isn't too smart because it's almost guaranteed you'll be facing another bet on the turn (so your equity edge isn't as good since it's with only one card to come). that is, if you bet for value UTG on the flop, and miss the turn, you'll check but someone behind you will usually bet.fold them in early position and middle position if the pot is unopened.your post-flop play was fine.aseem
