The Razzberries (mtt)

Sorry for the lack of other-player detail here. Not sure how much it affects the hand. Hero is somewhat loose. Ray is considered solid-aggressive.Deep in medium-size Razz tournament:Limits 3k/6kAnte 700Bring-in 1kCompletion 3k2 foldsRay (xx) 4 :icon_dance:completes to 3kHero (5 :) 4 ) 6 :icon_dance:calls4 foldsPot 11.9kHero (5 :icon_dance: 4 ) 6 :icon_dance: Q :icon_dance:bets 3kRay (xx) 4  K :club:callsPot 17.9kHero (5 :icon_dance: 4 :club:) 6 :club: Q :club: T :club: checksRay (xx) 4 :club: K :D 5 :club:bets 6kHero callsPot 29.9kHero (5 :icon_dance: 4 :club:) 6  Q  T :club: 8 :club: checksRay (xx) 4 :club: K :D 5 :club: 4 :D checksPot 29.9kHero (5 :icon_dance: 4 :club:) 6 :club: Q :club: T :club: 8 :club: (J :D) checksRay (xx) 4 :club: K :) 5 :club: 4 :) (x) bets 6kHero foldsComments on all streets.

3bet 3rd. as played, don't bet 4th--he should raise, actually. you both bricked and it's highly unlikely either of you will play that card. bet 6th. c/c 7th. as played i probably call 7th since he doesn't bet like a nine here, but does bet either a bluff or 7 or better (if he's good, but not tricky enough to be able to valuebet nines in spots like these). you're good 1/5, promise. call.oh, also, what are the dead cards on 3rd? anything that matters? if everyone else had a high door card you MUST 3bet on third since he'll be stealing weak.

Yeah, with given information, check-call seventh. Only I am allowed to under-rep my hand and then fold for one bet on seventh!Seriously though, upcard information would be nice here. A ten low is good an awful lot here. Many times I would lead sixth in order to either take it on 6th or re-fire on 7th. These marginal spots can really be the difference in razz MTTs.Remember, solid players can lay down hands, especially when they pair out in the open. Don't discount the fact he may have raised light to start or paired a hole card to boot.

Yeah...I didn't actually play the hand. I changed around some of the details to disguise its origin. It took place in the 50k HORSE this year...Ray(mer) versus Gabe Kaplan. My brother (who doesn't play Razz) was adamant that Kaplan made a terrible fold on 7th, and I tend to agree. I don't have other upcard info cause ESPN didn't give it...basically, Kaplan really seemed to butcher the whole thing (after checking 6th, he said he didn't realize that Raymer had paired).

o you tricky bastard, lol. if that's a wsop tourney hand there could be lots of other stuff going on there, too. like, if it's not deepstacked at whatever stage they're at, i withdraw the 3betting 3rd thing, and it's entirely possible that various players nit it up so bad at some games in a horse tourney that kaplan's fold would be correct. i've made folds like that occasionally against certain players in razz, but the standard play should definitely be a call.

I saw that hand and thought the same thing on TV. heh..Forget all that, the important thing is: where the hell did you find a converter that good?

I enjoyed the hand where Norm Chad was commenting about Raymer saying his opponent was ahead on 5th. I hope Norm was being sarcastic but I'm really not sure. And not betting 6th this hand was recockulous, not to mention the other stuff.
