Ring games only

I have noticed that almost everyone on this board prefers 6 max to full ring.

There is the obvious benefit of seeing more hands per hour, thus increasing your potential winrate. I am looking for other reasons and some pros and cons of both.

Discuss.

im still not sold that many of these people that get these big online scores are winners when it comes to the live game, which, by the way, is real poker.

Weaker players play even worse on a 6 max table because there are more opportunities for them to overvalue their hands and they become too aggrodonkish because they don't understand the real concept of aggression.

It's a bit more psychological as well in that it's much easier to pick on a player.

I'm not sure I could ever go back to 9 handed cash games online.
Stanley: Collard.
Michael Scott: What?
Stanley: They're called "collard" greens.
Michael Scott: No, no. That's offensive. They're not called "collard" people.

9 handed is harder, that's why everyone plays 6 handed.

you need to wait for better hands, position is less often, and action junkies will usaully go insane in about 4 orbits, making them type insane comments in chat and buy really bad shoes etc.

I'm not sure about this, maybe FR players can verify But in my limited experience of FR, there are a LOT more Shortstacks which slow the game down more.
Goodbye FCP.

Generally there are a lot more bad players playing full ring. (shortstackers, random tards, etc.) But its just so damn boring and slow moving.

I might start updating this again.

Andrew Yanning in one of his card runners videos mentioned that the FR players generaly play too many hands OOP and that as most of the best players play 6-max it's sometimes harder than full ring.

IMO, 6-max is the more skillfull game so theoreticaly being a more skillfull player you should maximise your edge over others more in 6-max, especialy as it's easier to exploit people's weakness and tendencies when there's only 6 players at a table.

Added to the fact the FR is nit filled, i was watching some of the 25/50 games on stars and they are the most boring things ever.

the only benefit I find in FR is that I can play way more tables at once.

Also in my opinion hand rankings increase in value. I normally wont play A8o in a full ring but I will in a 6 handed game

I play a8o from cutoff and button, depending on the raiser I defend with it as well in the BB.

So an 67/25/1.5 guy raises on the button and you just fold?

QFT. I used to make this mistake all the time without even knowing I was doing it in the 6-12 months following the HOH era. I assumed I had the odds to call mathematically with poor cards since Harrington said I did in a poker tournament. Wrong. Thanks to Hoosier for innocently mentioning it in some random post about a year ago and fixing it. I <3 you sir.

I was hoping for responses from both types of players, actually, but obv the most responses will be re: no limit.
