Unfortunately I don't think Semin is going to play tonight but I have no one else to replace him with... how about my boy Cory Murphy?

The Semin thing is weird... they keep saying he's a game day decision, and it's not serious.... he played earlier in the week.... for about 2 1/2 minutes.... I'm going to have to call Ovi and find out the truth... if he tells it.... LOL
And Murphy.... four games, three points on an AWFUL team..... he's a stud.....

Semin is not on the lineup on Nhl.com.

I was also hoping for him to return tonight. Hopefully he won't be out much longer.

BTW Daniel, I'm from Montreal, and Andrei Kostitsyn is looking great so far. He also has great chemistry with Kovalev, and with Plekanec centering them now, I really think those two could be difference makers for the Thieves on some AHL nights.

Good luck tonight.
I blame Turco.

Kostitsyn is abig part of my future but I need to move Kovalev this season. He is the longest serving member of the team, but it's time to make a deal. Unfortunately I haven't recieved any solid offers for him.

blindsides picked up cory murphy 78th overall this year in the 7th round - using a technical loophole lol. is that unethical?!

What kind of loophole? I took him in the JUNIOR draft with the 11th overall pick.

Cory Murphy is a perfect example of why drafting juniors and waiting for 4 years is just not smart...There are way more Cory Murphys available than a Crosby who is very rare...Daniel made a solid pick but he was on everyone's radar...If i had a pick that high I would of grabbed hiim too...

this was the junior draft of the fchl too. keep in mind we had ours at the beginning of august so he wasnt on everyones radar then.

the loophole was that the rules states that a player must have been nhl drafted and played <10 nhl games to be eligible for selection but two days before the draft started nell, our commish, decided to make it nhl drafted, or signed, with less than <10 nhl games played to allow mainly for undrafted college guys. i went ahead and picked up murphy in the last round, and incidentally picked up chorney with the 2nd last overall pick too.

technically any other manager could have done the same but for whatever reason they didnt.

Fortunately for the Thieves, serge follows the Maple Leafs system of managing draft picks: trade them away for players that are overage and overrated, and be left eventually with nothing.....

Very, very early, but if the scores hold the Thieves will be back in a first place tie in the division.

Just a thought, but I love the new rule change for this season that gives more weight to winning the division. Win the division and you get a first round bye, that's huge.
