uses his x-ray vision to see his opponent's hole cards and the turn and river cards...not that superman was a cheater, just uses his powers to his advantage. I don't remember there being a rule about no x-ray vision.

I assumed he was LAG, not a maniac. A lag will bet/raise with a weak ace, which is what I believe he has here.

Depends on how crazy this guy is. and how crazy the other guy is. There's 13 sb is what 6.5 big bets? If he's rasing and reraising every hand with anything, I might call him down. If UTG+1 comes along for the ride though you could be in trouble. might cost you a small bet and 2 more big bets to win about a 11 big bet pot. If UTG check/raises you could get in the middle of a pissing war. I don't know, even against a maniac this is an iffy call I think. You could I guess raise him, while it's on the cheaper street. it might get UTG out of the way, but if he's a true maniac you'll get 3-bet. I think you should find a better spot where you can be more sure you're ahead here.

Having seen this hand I might call down. But it's not a big pot and a case could be made for folding and waiting for a better spot. But even if you are behind you have outs, and if you get a 9 you have tons of implied odds with this guy, I'd probably call down.

yeah but you have to take those chances because everypot that he doesnt have a decent hand you're going to win a lot from him. In every hand there is a huge range of hands you could be up against, and only a fraction of those are beating you. Take the occasional hit, you'll get paid off huge in the long run.

...who checked the flop. If he hit he midas well bet out because he's going to get the action anyway. Which leaves you with options. If you raise here, he probably folds, leaving you heads up with the maniac. If you call, he may call the one bet from the maniac and if he's not beating you now, gets a cheap card. But he could still be dangerous going for a check/raise, or a turn check/raise, however I don't see that play coming much after a capped pre-flop.

If UTG folds, you can take it from there.

If it was you and the maniac alone I would say 3bet. With the other guy in the hand calling 3 cold preflop I would be more worried about him getting cute with KQ AQ AK AA KK QQ. If he knows it's going to be raised back to him and all he has to do is sit back and watch you two go at it, I certainly would check that flop as well. Let you two do all the work for him while he cackles maniacally about all the fish on PP.

He didn't call 3 cold though. UTG limped in, then called 2 more, then called one more. This makes me think Axs or small pockets. Raising the flop here probably makes both of those fold.

I agree with most everything you have said.We should raise this flop and try to drive out UTG to get the maniac heads up.
