danc1984 0
I don't mean to be too harsh man but it is the worst laydown I have seen in a very long time, probably in the top few ever. Just awful. How can you not give him anything other than 88 or 99 here? His range is so much wider than this that it is not funny. I would never have even considered that I was behind. CBass1724 1
Instashove like whoa. I can't laydown a set on any flop. If I am beat, then so be it. Get it all into the pot Hellmuthian style.Very bad laydown.Once you get it all in, ask if you can take money out of your pocket and shove it in too.
bassplayer45459 0
God, i re-raise the first raise here. You have to call or shove here, you cant assume is has exactly 88 or
dt1313 0
Very bad laydown.Once you get it all in, ask if you can take money out of your pocket and shove it in too.Don't think I could have said it any better myself......Either you're playing out of your skill level or BR (or both), not trying to be mean, just an honest opinion...Dan
biff_goods 0
funny thing is you flatting the bet on the flop got you more action....
whiterice714 0
i'd give him 89s 10x before 88 / 99...you should have raised the 40 yourself... you're in a multi way pot w/ bottom set & a naked flush / straight draw sittin on the board... as played i insta shove on top of the $140 & am greatful all the money's actually going into the pot right now... you played this like you had Ad3d
psujohn 0
Honestly my first thought is flat the flop again and hope he leads into you on the turn but with all the draw all-in is the better move. If you're calling with 33 pre why are you ever folding when you flop a set?
whiterice714 0
If you're calling with 33 pre why are you ever folding when you flop a set? SERIOUSLY!!!!!!that's like paul wassicka style lolz....here, i'll call a PFR w/ 78ss & when it comes 6s9s i'm going to insta fold for the ultra tight metagame image benefits... krup24 0
next time you want unbiased responses don't post what villian showedeveryone is a genius when they know the resultsto say that you can NEVER fold bottom set is ignorant
davchi0049 0
Don't fold bottom set here, the board is so draw heavy, he has a combo draw or 8 9 much more often then 88/99.
7s7c 0
Raise the floop and you scoop $150.Don't try to play for stacks with a set if you don't intend to play for stacks with a set.FWIW I'm pretty surprised that a c/r with tp/tk in a 4 way pot actually worked at a Borgata NL table. MP stacks button w/ AcQs vs 7s9s when 5s hit the turn & the 2s hit the river)however, this is not the place to lay down 333... IMO he should have been raising the $40, he still has 2 to act behind him & hes drastically improving the FD's odds by smooth calling...as played i would have shipped it in on top of the $140... but that's mei still don't fold regardless regardless of the results... if he opsted results "oh i got stacked by 88" then my response would be something to the effect of "set over set sucks, bbfidts, reload & keep playing you still have to ship it in on that flop"
myenemy 0
If you're calling with 33 pre why are you ever folding when you flop a set?QFTI pretty much cannot argue with anyone here and dont want to. In retro, I am just such a dope for laying this down, I must have gone instantly anti-Kenny Tran, wanting to make an amazing laydown or something. I definitely think I should have raised the $40 bet and obviously should have reraised the $140. I just couldnt believe that the guy would come through 3 players who put $40 in the pot with TPTK or a draw. Admittedly I am out of "poker shape". To me that means knowing the right play and not executing it. BTW, everyone here has collectively made me feel like an even bigger donk. But sincerely, Thank You. Guess you need that once in a while. This all wouldve been made much worse by a losing session....
whiterice714 0
i dont mean to come off in a condescending manneri just dont see how you folded...sure, given that he c/rd 3 people he shouldn't have only A9 hardly ever... but that doesn't mean he has ONLY 88 or 99...i still think you should have raised the $40 like 100% right there, you're inviting JT & Ahxh to just kick it & take like 4+:1 odds to hit their draw... if you were heads up w/ guy who bet $40, sure i dont mind flat calling but i'd probably still raise both for value & to tax him if he wants to come along w/ a draw... i didn't mean to say you were a donkey if that's how it came across...i personally am not good enough to call anyone (but donkeys) "a donkey"ie if i told acid knight he was a donkey i'd likely have to kick my own ass after both getting laughed @ & laughing @ myself... if you catch my drift... It's a pretty simple leak to fix really. Next time you are considering folding a hand similar to this, smash yourself in the nads.

I forget which one it's in and i realize this is a cash game... but he is talking about how players come up to him and tell him a story when they just knew they were beat so they lay down bottom or middle set on a board like yours... Harrington says he listens and nods approvingly but as the player walks away he thinks "idiot" i'm not saying you are i just recalled that funny passage. i think we've all been there... my last trip to borgata i made several bad folds to the same player after i knew he was super aggro and i should be calling his raises more liberally. as you play more its great to fold JJ preflop and your opponent shows you QQ or better, i just think along the lines of the other posters that bottom set is too strong to fold. good luck and maybe i'll see you at the borgataphil
