I'm really glad she finally got busted she was the Teflon Don of the track world everyone around her (husband, coach, babies father) got busted but she kept coming up clean her being busted is a big step in cleaning up the sport of track and field. BigLebowski 0
Chemists are so far ahead of the testers there will always be hundreds of drugs that enhance performance, but can't be detected. Why not just let these athletes do whatever they want to do their bodies AND still test them? That way we can use them as guinea pigs in building super human athletes.s/w probably needed, but let's face it...sports as life is not and will never be fair.

It is a map of the physical improvements have evolved over the past 100 years, and acknowledges freaks like Jessee Owens who were far superior than anyone in the era he competed. I am not saying I disagree with you at all. I just think the bad scientists, if you can call them bad, will always be ahead of the good ones. It's a shame we will have to keep looking at athletes in hindsight wondering if they were clean or not. I think we aren't far away from them having to give a pint of blood so that there is enough to test years later.

They increase your heart rate and allow you to perform past your physical limit, it would be more apt to help mid distance runners, than sprinters.

lordofelt 0
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071009/ts_nm/...q6ikKavIfaOe8UFShe gave the medals back.Saw that today. The people I feel sorry for are her relay teammates, assuming they were clean, because now their is going to be calls for them to hand in their medals too and having to hand over something you worked your whole life for because you did nothing wrong would be an incredibly difficult I must imagine. On the other hand those teams that finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th are going to claim they deserve the next medal up, its a no win situation for the other members of the team some of whom i assume won their only Olympic medal in that race. What does everyone think should the members of the relay teams give back their medals too?
bdc30 0
Yep -- you can't tell me none of them saw her applying "the clear". One down, all down.
Jennings7 0
Yep -- you can't tell me none of them saw her applying "the clear". One down, all down.I could not disagree more. You cannot in any way just assume they saw her using the clear, and ever if they had, they may not have even known what it was. If I see someone rubbing something on there arms or legs, I'm not going to assume they are applying sterioids. I think she should have to give up her medal, but the others should be able to keep theirs. Who's to say they would not have won had she not been on the team. It's too subjective. They all benefit form her cheating. No choice but to take them. Although I like how she has handled it so far after she finally admitted she was lying the whole time. Sort of sets the bar high for guys like Mc Gwire and Bonds, who will never get into the hall without admitting what they did.
acesinhole7 0
There should be an Olympic type competition where the athletes are allowed to use whatever performance enhancing drugs they choose. It would be like a super-extreme Olympics full of genetically mutated beasts. Wait a minute... the only difference between that and the actual Olympics would be that everyone is open about doping. Seriously, what % of Olympic power lifters are all natural?

His numbers are just too huge to keep him out without definitive proof he was a user. I mean yeah, of course we all know that he did juice up more than Arnold, but can we really punish him without proof? You could argue it would be un-american to do so. lordofelt 0
Just came across this article today while I was looking for something else. This situation is extremely unclear and is going to take the IOC months if not years and a few trips to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to completely clear up:Marion Jones teammates medals
bdc30 0
If I was one of her teammates, I'd be sellin that shizz' on EBAY or somethin. Might as well get some dough for it. Anyone ever sold an olympic gold?
