vonteego3 0
I guess I've become a crotchety old get-off-my-lawn man.Around 6 this evening, I look out my front window and see a Chevy Tahoe with 22" chrome rims... wrapped around one of my oak trees. I could see the airbag had gone off, so I checked to see if they were okay, and they were. So instantly, I got these flashbacks to every other time I've seen someone flying down my road and wished a fiery crash upon them. It wasn't fiery, no, but it was a young punk kid driving the truck his Dr dad bought for him. And he was driving down the road too fast, not paying attention, following too close, then the car in front pulled into her driveway and he swerved right into my front yard.Outcome: A story to tell. One less punk driving down my road like that for the next 3 days until daddy buys him a new one. It's not getting repaired, that truck is completely destroyed. And I know we're all worried about the tree... 100 years old approximately, about a 12-16" in diameter... I think he'll make it through the night with just the shame of having a small section of his bark stripped.I wanted to leave it there, so every other kid that does the same will see it.Get off my lawn. Balloon guy 158
You should paint a little truck on the tree.At your age it will be easier than remembering how many times this has happened.Plus all the other trees will want one.Mark
