TheDaveyG 6
Opening Night tonight. Obv. my defense is weak, but at least they are cheap. Berard will probably be dropped as soon as I make a choice on who I want to replace him. There are some trade possibilities out there which will be continued to be explored. I feel like a have a good shot to win the division this year after finishing second in the div last year.

TheDaveyG 6
BlackDevilHawks have beaten Broadway for victory number 1. The BlackDevilHawks open their season on the road in New York against Broadway and was able to control the game on their way to a 4.5 to 0.5 victory. Chris Drury led the way with 1 goal and 2 assists, while Martin St. Louis had 3 assists and Nathan Horton added a goal and Paul Ranger an assist. The Lightning turned in a dominating performance giving up 1 goal. Up next is the BlackDevilHawks home opener against reigning Division Supreme winners, the asdfjkl;, on Saturday at 6:00 central time.
TheDaveyG 6
BlackDevilHawks vs. asdfjkl; Last season, the BDH went 1-6-1against them, including 2 OT losses, and four more losses by a combined total of 3 points. The BDH finished 2nd in the division to the asdfjkl;, only 7 points behind. We look to this record against the home keys as the reason we weren't in the playoffs. If the asdjkl; have the same kind of luck they had last year, then we have no shot. Are we still bitter about that, a little. A drubbing tonight will help ease the pain. TheDaveyG 6
Tough loss last night for the BDH, losing to the home keys in overtime again. Luck is not on our side against this team. On the bright side, the defense was able to get 2 goals and 2 assists in the loss.
TheDaveyG 6
Wednesday October 10thBlackDevilHawks (1-1-0) at Altona Maroons (0-2-0)The BDH travel to Altona to face those pesky Maroons in another Division Supreme matchup. The Maroons dropped their season opener at home while the BDH won on the road for their season opener. The Maroons are the team of the future in the FCHL with very good players ready to break out at any time. Last season, the BDH were 6-2 against the Maroons. Jonathan Toews will make his debut tonight after sitting out the first two games with a broken finger.Projected lineups:BlackDevilHawks:CrosbyM. TheDaveyG 6
Altona Maroons defeat the BlackDevilHawks 4-3 behind two goals from Huselis and a Backstrom shutout. Jonathan Towes scored his first career FCHL goal, but it wasn't enough as the top line of Crosby-St. Louis-Drury could only get 1A. Ryan Getzlaf tried to bring them back with a 1G 1A effort, but fell just short. Up next is a 5 game road trip against some very tough teams. Good game Nell.
TheDaveyG 6
The BlackDevilHawks have claimed Tobias Enstrom off of waivers and have dropped Nummelin. He's young and has been given a lot of chances on the power play, now he can start putting some points on the board. Now I only have 1 defenseman who was born before 1983. TheDaveyG 6
Saturday Oct. 13BlackDevilHawks 3Whalers 2A fine victory for the BHD on the road tonight against the Whalers. Sid came through with a pair of goals while Ovechkin added another. Brunette and Justin Williams each added 2 assists. The goaltending was shaky at best, allowing 6 goals that kept it close for the Whalers. This was the first victory against the Whalers after getting swept by them last season. Next game- October 18 at The Lost Cause

ajs510 122
Just heard, Vokoun out. Thanks, didn't have a choice since Nashville didn't play tonight. I actually think Anderson is an outstanding goalie anyway (former Amerk), and it was good to see that he could shoulder the load.

TheDaveyG 6
With all the anticipation of playing the MapleLeafs, I forgot to do a preview of the BlackDevilHawks and Shafstbury Wheat Ales. Both teams icing a strong lineup, and the SWA are the highest scoring team in the FCHL. BlackDevilHawks- 6.0 Shaftsbury Wheat Ales 3.
TheDaveyG 6
Huge win tonight against the Lost Cause (currently FCHL leader), final score 11-1. The BlackDevilHawks set two league records tonight, most points in a game (11) and largest margin of victory (10).

digitalmonkey 929
An interesting story I heard on the Hawks telecast the other night:Apparently Brent Sopel told Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews that rookies were required to buy a bottle of wine for their teamates. Toews just assumed Sopel was joking and never gave it a second thought, however, Kane gave everyone on the team a bottle of wine with a personalized label listing the date of his first NHL goal. According to Marty Lapointe, who has a huge wine cellar in his house, the wine is a good one worth about $100 a bottle. Some of the players had Kane autograph the bottle for them and there is talk of a bottle or two showing up on ebay for charity.EDIT: Just found this.
digitalmonkey 929
Here's the bottle on ebay if you want to bid.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...mMakeTrack=trueThey had to empty the bottle as selling alcohol is not permitted on ebay.P.S. Jason Williams look 11 years old.
